"And Jeff... You're paired with Claude Mitchelle."

My eyes blinked open, and I was staring wide-eyed at the teacher. The look she returned was subtly one of pity, but she quickly continued listing names. I glanced over at Jeff, who was looking back at me, his brown hair hanging in his eyes. God, this boy needed a haircut.

This was one of my only classes I didn't have with Alex, but I knew he'd be laughing in my face. Days have passed since the whole Kyle incident. I stood slowly, walking over to where Jeff sat and cleared my throat, plastering on a smile for him.

"Hey. Did you pay any attention to what she said, or are we both clueless."

I'd expected him to at least crack a smile or agree with me, but his eyes stayed trained on me. My smile barely faltered before I pulled over a chair beside him. "Guess you know what you're doing, huh? We should get started."

Once again, no response. I might've heard a grunt, but he only started to pull out his book.

We worked silently for most of the class, before Jeff suddenly slapped his hand down on my wrist, making me yelp. I looked up, probably a look of terror across my face, which made him smile. "Come to my place tonight, if you want to get this project done. I'll give you my address."

I was shocked, before nodding and taking a piece of paper when he held it out. I looked up for a moment, realizing our classmates had took notice of my shriek and started whispering, probably about us two. I scowled and pulled my hand back, as if disgusted. Jeff didn't look very amused by my act, and I hoped I looked apologetic.

Once the bell rang I stood up and started heading for the door. Jeff was behind me, though I couldn't help but notice how close he stayed by me. For some reason I didn't mind too much, but I knew the school would. So I walked a little faster.

I reached my locker and was immediately grabbed by my hips and hugged by a familiar bubbly giggle.

"I heaaard!" Alex purred, swaying me romantically. I laughed at his greeting and wiggled from his grip, looking  confused.

"Heard what?"

"People are saying some guy held your hand! Who?" His face was so lit up, I almost didn't want to let him down.

"Oh. Hah. Oh my god. No, Jeff grabbed my wrist, that was all."

He seemed shocked, but then made a face. "Jeff? Why?"

"I've gotta go to his house later for some project, I don't know why he grabbed my wrist."

Alex was silent for a moment while I got my books, heading to my next class as he stayed close behind.

He was leaning over my shoulder as he whispered. "Maybe he infected you, gave you some contagious disease."

I rolled my eyes, giving him an elbow to the gut and sitting in my seat. "I'm perfectly healthy, thank you very much."

At least, I hoped I was.

Jeff watched me again at lunch, and Alex wouldn't stop bugging me about it.

Still a creep.

That afternoon, I'd hoped to have acted as if I forgot the whole Jeff thing. For some reason, I really didn't want to go to his house. What if people got the wrong idea? Oh god, what if he made a move on me?

But, all of my worries disappeared once a cold hand gripped mine, leading me to the back of the school. If I was hoping no one would make assumptions, I was wrong. I saw the infamous white hoodie and accepted my defeat, being most literally dragged along. "Come on."

I glanced behind me to see Alexander almost doubled over laughing at my departure. Perks of a best friend.

He climbed onto a motorcycle, patting behind him for me. My eyes went wide.

"No. Hell no. If you're expecting me to climb onto that death machine you'r dead wrong."

He snorted and laughed, patting again.

He had a cute laugh.

I climbed on behind him reluctantly, dismissing the thought and wrapping my arms around his waist. He suddenly took off, purposefully making me shriek and clutch tighter. Asshole.

The entire school must've seen me behind Jeff by now. Great.

Soon we pulled up to a nice tall house, being lead in as I looked around. His house was nice, it was neat and tidy but also made you feel at home. I was pulled up the steps and toward a room before a tall man came from behind another door.

I'd saw him around school a few times, and I recognized him as Jeff's brother. Immediately, my cheeks flushed and I was feeling a bit self conscious. He was fairly attractive, he didn't look much like Jeff. Not that Jeff was unattractive, now that I thought about it Jeff could be considered pretty good looking.

Jeff was almost hot.

This made my face blaze, and the stranger held a smirk on his lips. "Who's this, Jeffer-"

"Hands off, she's here for school." Jeff cut in, roughly tugging me to his room.

Part of me wanted to hear what his brother would've said to me, but the other part just wanted to get this over with.

And another part wanted to hang out with Jeff.
