Taylor's POV
I woke up, and for once it wasn't because of someone else. I had just woken up. Damn that felt good. I had today to hang with my family and then I had to leave tomorrow with the boys for a flight back to Denver. I sighed, getting up and heading into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and threw my hair up into a bun. I can't ever get it to be messy. It's either too perfect or too messy. Damn the life of being a girl! I put some deodorant on and then threw my bathing suit on under my clothes. I had on a bandeau top that had colorful stitches into the front while the rest was black. It was the same with the bottoms. I then threw on a bright tank top over that with black shorts. I hopped down the stairs and into the kitchen. I smiled to my mom and I grabbed a glass of orange juice, and a corn muffin. I sat down on the stool and began taking small bites of my muffin.
"So are you going to be hanging out with the boys today?" My mom asked and I shrugged.
"Probably, I was gonna head to the pool after I finish here and I'll text them before I leave to see if they want to come." I say and my mom smiles at me as she looks down at her newspaper. Without looking up, she continued talking to me.
"So was it weird?" She asks and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Was what weird?" I ask her.
"Dating Dustin right after Adam? Did it make things awkward?"
"Yeah, but not really awkward. It was more like problematic. Adam didn't want to give up on me and Dustin had some complications. I'm just glad with how it is now."
"Everything alright with Adam now?" She asks and I think back to last night, a grin appearing, staring at my glass of orange juice.
"Yeah. Yeah everything is alright now." I say, and grin to her. She smiles back, though I can tell she wants to ask why I'm so happy. She doesn't, thankfully and I finish my breakfast. I hop off my stool and head upstairs where I grabbed a beach towel and threw it in a bag with my phone, headphones, suntan lotion and my sunglasses. I take my phone out and text Dustin that i'm going to the pool and to come with Adam if he wants. I slipped into some flip flops and bounded down the stairs. "Bye Mom!"
"Bye sweetie! Be back by 6 at the latest!"
"Okay!" I yell back as I walk outside. I walk off to the pool just across the street and down a little. When I arrive I flash my membership card and they let me into the pool. I take a seat in the shade because I didn't need to tan, I had been out in the sun a little too much. It's a surprise my skin isn't bright red and peeling. I sigh, putting in my headphones and turn on my "Pool" play list. The first song comes on and I grin as it's The Cab's song, Lovesick Fool. This band is my new addiction, I can't believe I hadn't found them sooner. When the song ended, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and saw Adam standing above me with a smile. I took out my headphones and he took a seat in the reclined chair next to me. Dustin came over to us with three glasses of lemonade. I smiled to him and we all sat back.
"It's funny huh?" Adam asked and we looked over at him.
"What's funny?" Dustin asked.
"Just how much we've grown. I mean when I was dating Taylor we were pretty immature. I feel like we've matured a lot."
