I almost dropped my phone when I got the call, my beautiful wife, my Theresa has been in a terrible accident. She's only just holding onto life. I rush to the hospital as quick as possible and get there about ten minutes later, after finally finding out what room she's in and I'm not even allowed in to see her. Bullshit. I look down at my phone for the time and realize I haven't called Charlotte. Theresa has been declared to be in a stable condition which leaves me debating whether or not to call, the decision is made for me though as Theresa slips into cardiac arrest. It's honestly the worst call I've ever had to make and I'm sure the call to Theresa's parents is going to be much harder. She's slipped into what they are calling an 'almost stable' condition, meaning that she's stable but they're not sure because she was stable then went into cardiac arrest so they're trying not to get my hopes up, lovely. I realize how shaky I am and decide to sit down, my legs are bouncing up and down like crazy, I can't wait anymore. Just as I'm about to go into the room and tell the doctors they can screw themselves I see Charlotte running towards me. I pull her into a massive bear hug and as a look over her shoulder I see a boy with her, could that be Kyle? I've heard so much about him, it will be great to finally meet him. My thinking was cut off immediately when I heard beeping coming from Theresa's room. She had passed suddenly and without pain, the doctors rushed in and tried to revive her but nothing was working. Charlotte and I were finally allowed in to hold her one more time. I wanted to break down and cry but I couldn't. I had to be strong for her. She's my daughter, she doesn't need to see me cry, I'll do that later. I remember when I first met her, we were in uni actually in a music class. We were doing practical for our first day and we had to pair up with someone the teacher chose. Of course I was paired up with the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, the whole session I was watching her play piano, the grace and beauty she had when she ran her hands along the keys and the perfect flick of her hand to brush hair behind her ear without skipping a beat. She was so beautiful. I feel a tear roll down my cheek as I snap back into reality, I quickly wipe it away and I realize that Kyle is pulling into the driveway. We get out of the car and I see a familiar blonde shape sprint towards Charlotte, Emily of course. I walk over to open the door and as I open it I hear a loud slap, I see Emily's head in Charlotte's hands so I drag them inside so they don't cause a scene. I go to the bathroom and loose my cool a little and start crying, how am I going to do this? She was is the love of my life and now she's gone... I compose myself and make my way downstairs. When I get downstairs, bracing myself for crying teenagers I see the girls asleep on the couch and the boys talking in the kitchen. "Riley, Kyle how did you do it?" I ask. They smirk at each other and zip their lips, assholes. After about half an hour of talking we decide to go get some of Emily's stuff from her old house and let her foster mum know what is going on. Little did we know her foster mum is an absolute bitch and kicked us out of the house. We decide to go back in the morning with paperwork and backup once everyone has rested. I call a court official and head to bed saying goodnight to the boys and giving the girls a kiss on the forehead.
