"When did you do that to your hair?" Mum asked once we sat down at the dinner table. Michael, Ashton, and Calum had went home about two hours before mum started dinner.
"Michael did it." I smiled.
"I like it." She smiled, dad agreeing with her, meanwhile Jack and Ben didn't look too sure about the new change.
"I like it but it makes you look too grown up. I want my baby sister back." Jack pouted. Luke and Ben agreeing with him.
"I'm still here, just older." I gave them a slight smile before popping a piece of steamed broccoli in my mouth.
"I know but I liked it when we used to chase you around and make you think boys had cooties. We liked it when we could pick you up and pretend to drop you. Or throw you over our shoulders and run around with you till we got yelled at by mum and dad. We all dreaded the day you came home with a boyfriend." Ben sighed.
"You still do that," I looked down at my lap, "It's like you're wanting me to cry." I laughed, fanning my face to keep my from crying.
"So Pandora, your birthday is in a week, what do you want?" Dad asked, turning the attention to something else.
"I dunno. I don't need anything. I have my family. That's all I need."
"You're hopeless. I swear." Luke laughed.
"How?" I smiled.
"Most girls would want a new iPhone or a MacBook or something completely pricey. But you, nope."
"I already have a phone," I held up my iPhone 5s, "a computer," referring to my HP Limited Edition Beats laptop, "So what else do I really need?"
He shrugged before finishing his food then asking to be excused, which my parents allowed him o do so.
"He's right you know." Mum sighed.
I shrugged, getting up from the table and putting the left overs in the refrigerator.
I helped my mum clean up and wash dishes before walking up to my room, where I crashed once I hit the bed. Jeans and all.
---I woke up, sweat streaming down my face. Tears blurred my eyes.
I grabbed my phone looking at the time. I furiously wiped at my eyes, trying to get them to adjust to the brightness on the phone.
8:56 AM
Everytime id try to fall back asleep, i just couldn't.
I sighed before grabbing my towel out of the hall closet and walking into the bathroom, that everyone shared but our parents, and taking a shower, but not washing my freshly dyed purple hair.
I just stood under the hot water, gathering my thoughts.
The dream. God.
It was like my world came crashing down.
Michael left me. As white girlish as that sounds.
Like he admitted he was only with me for sex and actually hated my guts and that he never wanted to be my friend, that it was a dare to befriend me.
I teared up again, just thinking about it.
"Pan? Are you in there?" I heard Luke mumble from the other side of the door.
"Uh yeah." My voice trembled.
"Are you okay?"
Honestly, hell to the no.
"Yeah. I'll be done in a few."
I heard footsteps fade before I actually got out of the shower.
I wrapped my towel around my shaking body and dried off, sliding my black skinny jeans on and a The Offspring tshirt on that I stole from Luke cause it was too little for him.
I looked into the mirror, redness riming the outlining of my eyes.
No way to cover that up. I splashed some cold water on my face, hoping for that to take away the puffiness before exiting the bathroom and facing my family, who would soon be asking questions.
