Your POV
I scamper out the door, grabbing my purse laying on a chair next to the entry. Promptly closing the door behind me, I dash into the empty street onto the sidewalk. As usual, rain poured over the top of me as I opened the black umbrella, making my way to the down town of New York City. Soon as the bright morning sun filled the sky, people of all ages walked the busy streets, soon making my path a little disorganized.
People smiled at me as I passed by, and I flashed them smiles in return. I ran into some people I knew from my college, and we made small talk before continuing my way down town. Talking a quick detour through a rose garden, I admired the grey flowers that lay in front of me. I turned to look at the other roses marked as red, only to see a deeper shade of grey. Although I cannot see the wonderful color of the mysterious roses, I still take in their beauty as the petals lay ever so delicately to form a beautiful flower.
Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I glance at the time on my lock screen before taking off, back into the active streets of New York. I finally make my way into the StarBucks I planned to go to, and step into the long line of people that patiently waited for their coffee. I pull out my phone in the meantime and also take out a knotted pair of purple earbuds, (I think it's purple) plugging them into my iPhone. I shuffle my Spotify playlist, and tuck my phone back into the black ski jacket I wear. The song Bittersweet By Panic! At The Disco starts to play it's soothing melody, and I tap my foot on the wooden StarBucks floor.
The line moves slowly, but I'm to engaged in my music flowing from my headphones to really care weather or not the line moves. After awhile my legs start to ache, and just in time, as I step up to order my coffee. The man behind the cash register has jet black hair, and bags under his eyes. His what appeared to be green eyes look at me, and he smiles and waves. I pull out one of my earbuds and smile as well.
"Hello, what may I get you today Miss?" He asks, the warm smile still plastered on his face. I look at the menu and tap my finger on the counter, looking at the various choices. All of them sound so good, I am almost tempted to buy them all. I divert my attention back the man, as I see bobs his head a little.
"I think I will have the Skinny Peppermint Hot Chocolate." The man grabs a cup and a sharpie as he looks backs up at me and beams.
"What is your name?" He asks, looking down at the cup now.
"It's (Y/N). Thank you!" I tell the man, as he scribbles down my name, then placing the cup behind him, where a woman grabs it and I watch intently as she makes my drink. The man gives me one more glowing smile before I step aside and wait for my beverage. New songs start to play, and I bob my head to the beat, watching out the window to see cars pass by. The woman who made my drink finally hands me it. I take a small sip of it, feeling the chocolate liquid fill my mouth, burning my mouth a little. I make my way over to a window seat and plop myself down on the snug arm chair and I start to dig around in my purse until I find my laptop.
Setting it down on the coffee table, I open up my research for one of my papers, and begin grabbing information on the topic of ((C/S) Choice Subject) from various credible sites. I check my email, and find one from mother and my professor. Checking the one from my mother's first, only to see she sent me a picture of her riding a dolphin in Miami where she retired, and then I check the one from my professor. He talks about a new assignment having to do with drawing, but at the bottom he explains while I have to sit out of this assignment because of my lack of color, and I have to make up for it some how.
I let out a sigh, and slump back in my chair. I guess I can do another paper. I start to finish the paper I already started, when someone sat down in the chair next to me. I didn't look at them since I have no interest of making friends in a StarBucks.
"What are you working on? " A man's voice with a heavy accent inquirers. Still not looking up at the man, I take a drink of my coffee and add a few words on the paper before replying.
"Just a paper for school." I say bluntly, sighing at the boring paper. I don't see him, but I know he is frowning.
"Oh I see. I'm Felix by the way!" he says. I start getting bored with the paper, and would much rather be talking to someone that I don't know the researching (C/S). Slowly closing the laptop, I take a drink before looking at the man. I sip on the it, and look up at the man, giving him the eye contact he wanted. Instead, I stay there, shocked. I tense up, one part of me wanted to slap myself, the other part wanted to scream in joy. In front of me was a very attractive man, but that isn't even the best part. His hair combed over, and he had a very small beard, but once again, that wasn't the best part.
The best part was I could see his hair, dirty blonde. I could see the color of his hair. It was golden, with yellow highlights and baize streaks. His expression changed from a smiling man, to a very confused man. He chuckled nervously as I stared at his hair. I then got out of my seat without thinking, running outside. The man followed me in alarm. I watched as yellow taxis drove by, blonde's walked the streets, street lights flashing the brilliant color, but best of all, behind the clouds, the sun started to peak out, and it shined before my eyes. It wasn't white anymore.
I spun around to face Felix, and with out realizing, embraced him, hugging him with all my might.
"Thank you!" Was all I could say as a small stream of tears fell from my face onto his shoulder. He just hugged me tightly back and put his chin on my shoulder.
"I don't know what I did, but you're welcome... My Sunshine."
