First thing I did when I woke up in the morning was call Lai'. I had to fill her in on the amazement of last night.
"He took you to that bougie French restaurant on 25th and Pershing? Oh girl, I heard that place is the business."
"Yes, the view of downtown L.A. was so gorgeous. It was unbelievable."
The teapot I had on the stove began whistling, alarming me that the water was now hot enough. I was a huge coffee fan for awhile, but recently after having tea instead of my usual cup of coffee, I've been addicted. There's no way I can start my morning off right without my favorite blend of chamomille tea. I filled my cup and plopped the tea bag inside as I grabbed a spoon and took a seat at my kitchen table and began stirring.
"So did you get some?" Lai' blurted out.
I stopped stirring my tea and made a surprised face as if she could see it through the phone.
"Lailani!"
"What? I just want to know. Was it good? It had to be good. He looks like he has that good stroke."
"Okay, Lai' enough!" I said trying to hold back my laughter.
"One, your just nasty and Two, we did not have sex okay."
"What do you mean ya'll didn't have sex? You didn't let him hit?"
"No. You know I don't give it up that easy. He did give me the best kiss I've ever had though."
Of all people, she should know how I get down. I've never given it up on the first date. Now, I can't say the same for Lai'. I'm not calling her a hoe or anything, but let's just say she's not too picky when it comes to the opposite sex.
"See that's what's wrong with you. That's why your so angry all the time. You need some sex in your life. A kiss can't get rid of all that pent up anger you got going on."
I laughed and took a few sips of my drink before answering.
"Trust me Lai', you get enough sex for the both us."
"Yea, whatever." She shot back.
"Anyways girl, let me get off of this phone. I have to start getting ready for work."
"Alright. Hey, and if that bitch Sandra act up, get a hit in for me."
"You are a hot ass mess Lai'." I giggled. "I'll talk to you later."
I hung up, downed what was left of my tea, and made my way to the bathroom for a quick shower. An hour later, I made it to work just in time to clock in before I was considered late. I waved to Yvonne, and the new girl Alyssa as I made my way to the back where our lockers were located to put away my things. Just my luck, Sandra's stank ass was back there too but, I did what I did best and ignored her as I locked my stuff up and proceeded back to the front of the store.
"Maliyah! I forgot to tell you when you walked in, but some flowers were delivered here for you." Said Yvonne.
I went to the counter and there sat the prettiest orchids I had ever seen with a note tucked in the middle.
Just wanted to make your day a little more special.

I was to busy smiling from ear to ear to notice Sandra standing in front of me.
"What you smiling so hard for? They're just flowers. Oh wait, this must be the first time a man has ever shown you attention right? I see why you'd be excited." She stretched the bubblegum she had in her mouth and began twirling it around her finger.
