Witchstuck

Chapter 3

At around 10:00 PM, Rose crept out of her cottage with other business other than need for supplies. She softly closed her creaky door with a small snap of it closing into place. The blonde glanced around making sure no one was around to see, surely if she was caught she would be an even more suspect than she was already. After about five minutes of creeping and sneaking, she finally reached Jade's house. With all of her courage she finally knocked on the door. By then it was 10:14, she spent about nine minutes pacing around Jade's front door trying to figure out a thing to say. Which wasn't really a good idea if Rose wanted to be subtle and not be seen. 

"Oh! Wow, I didn't really expect you to come," Jade laughed in a whisper with her normal sweet smile.

Rose sighed looking in another direction averting her eyes from Jade, "Well after your loud reasoning I decided to come."

"O- oh... Rose I'm sorry I didn't really mean it. I was just steamed--" Jade tried to protest.

"May I come in?" Rose interrupting looking Jade dead in the eyes. Jade paused gulping for a moment then wobbled out of the doorway moving her hand inside to guide Rose inside. The blonde walked inside the home with the most serious cold glare. She held her hands folded in front of her looking around the brunette's home. The walls were wooded and the floor was somewhat wooded as well by a lighter wood. It was hard to tell what type of wood but it looked pretty expensive. There was plants and flower pots scattered around, not exactly scattered but placed around respectively not being messy at all. Animal hide carpet in front of a fireplace followed by two white cushioned chairs around the fire place. Over the mantle was, of course, potted plants of beautiful vibrant colored flowers. 

The fire place was glowing and shining against the pots and vases around the room. Watering cans were piled in one corner and potato bags filled with seeds in another corner, a cabinet was supposed to by holding them all but the doors seemed to have unhinged dropping the six bags of seeds onto to ground. Rose turned to the fire place looking into it letting out a breath of air sitting down onto the white cushioned chair, it was quite nice and expensive. A grandfather clock was ticking against the walling reading "10:21", obviously at night. Jade left the room to the kitchen to grab something while Rose sat in front of the fireplace, she felt warm for once. Her cottage was usually cold because of her small fire place, it was warm but she never really cared to move her chair to the fire. She could knit a blanket or just use the one on her bed but it didn't really seem necessary to Rose. Unlike Rose's home, Jade had two other rooms; a kitchen and a bedroom, not including the living room Rose was currently in. 

Jade came back out with a tray of tea. The tray was shining with designs of flowers on the bottom and the tea set must have been china seeing that the painting on the cups and tea pot were painted beautifully. All of these things in Jade's home must have cost a fortune! Jade wasn't a widow nor did she seem to have a job? It wasn't certain but to Rose she knows Jade just most likely casted a spell or potion or whatever the hell she does to make all of this. Rose took a cup and crossed her legs keeping her left hand in her lap, she meant more business than usual.

"So," Jade sat down in the other chair setting the tray down beside her onto a table, "My plan is to stalk." A long pause was struck into the room. Rose was in the middle of drinking her tea looking up at Jade with the most pissed off look anyone could ever think about. Seriously, take a moment and think of the most pissed face ever. There right there, okay moving on. Her eye twitched and she slowly put her cup down.

"Are you serious," Rose finally said.

"Yeah what do you mean--" Jade attempted to speak again but was interrupted.

"That's it?! You gave me a long speech or whatever the hell you said and that's it?!" Rose had the cup on the table next to her chair so she wouldn't accidentally break the china in her tantrum, "What will we do when we find her anyway!?"

"Well if you stop talking for one moment I could tell you!" Jade shouted standing from her chair, her eyes forming the slits once again. Rose sighed sulking down into her chair, she knew this was unladylike but she hated being proven wrong of some sort. She let the brunette continue.

"Okay," Jade sat back down calming down, "First of all if we want to get anything done we have to not hate each other. We'll get to that later, anyway the rest of my plan. We attempt to watch the other townspeople looking closely. We'll know which one is a witch by the eyes. I read about that the head witch has red eyes. No one but Aradia has red eyes, but she has more of a brown mixed in. I don't think that counts, mostly because the head has a solid red. We look into the one's who hide or wear more things on their faces. Plus, she may hide them by some sort of magic. The top suspicions I have for head witch is Aradia, Nepeta and of course Vriska. I was going to suspect Dave and Equius because they cover their eyes but that would be ludicrous since they're males. We'll look into the first three make sure they don't get suspected or convicted by the others. This is going to be hard... We'll protect them even if they may not be the head. No matter what."

Rose sat there silently looking at Jade. She nodded and agreed to the plan, even though this would mean she would have to leave her cottage during the day and watch the three with her life at steak. She knew if this plan worked all of this would be worth it. After their meeting Rose carefully crept out of Jade's house sneaking back her own house. She turned a corner almost to her comfy cottage.

"Hey! Who's there?" A voice called out. A light from a lit lantern burned behind Rose. She slowly turned to the person with a nervous feeling in her stomach.
