He was never known to be reasonable and he knew that but he had no intentions of murdering her. It was surprisingly humane of him, thinking he shouldn't kill her, but it was also piteous. Murder Libitina? He might have to, but he didn't really want to. It was one thing to murder her when there were Reapers across the world killing and keeping the balance, but he had an utterly tight schedule that needed to be maintained. He had to kill the people on his list and only them.
The room was silent. The only thing he could hear was the faint breathing of the two motionless bodies on the bed. He glanced around the room that was usually neat, but wrecked as he had thrown in everything within a duffel bag earlier. Libitina and Gunner weren't awake yet.
How long does it take to wake up from unconsciousness? He wondered. I don't have time for this; I've got to work and these pathetic hurt little humans keep interfering.
He flinched at his mental tone. He was so bitter. But he had a reason; he had something else to do and he couldn't do it when the only people that could help him were unconscious. There were people to be murdered and he just couldn't wait for these princesses to wake up. If they wouldn't wake up by themselves, he'd wake them up himself.
How did he go about this? He crept onto the bed sheets and waited, watching his motionless body. It was just like a corpse. He wasn't too sure how to wake up someone from unconsciousness because all he did was knock out consciousness from people. He believed it would be just like waking up someone when they're in a deep sleep.
"Gunner!" No movement at all. "Gunner, wake the fuck up!" He shouted in the blonde's ear, shoving him frantically. This usually worked, so why wasn't Gunner waking up? Quietus flinched in irritation. He glared at Gunner harshly, even though Gunner wouldn't react. "Gunner," he growled, ready to slap his friend harshly. He scowled at Gunner's snoring form and then readjusted his arms on the mattress. Libitina was knocked out cold after the hit so he didn't bother to lower my voice. She clearly wasn't dead, but she sure as Hell wasn't waking up anytime soon.
After the incident at the hospital, Quietus had rushed the duo home. Strangely, no one had seen them. It had been ten minutes since then and he was seriously questioning Libitina's strength; how hard had she hit Gunner?
He was leaning in to slap his hand onto Gunner's cheek when he heard an odd-sounding moan. He didn't move, and instead glared around the room, unsure of what had made the sound. It was Gunner. Gunner groaned again and fell onto the floor. Hard.
"Quietus..." he grumbled. "What's your problem? Shut up, will ya?" He nestled further into the carpet teeming with as much bacteria as the streets we walked on. Quietus furrowed his brows and shook his head in disgust.
He curled up further into a ball and started to rub his face against the bristles on the floor. Quietus choked down his urge to kick Gunner in his stomach as he stretched. Quietus bent over to be closer to his ear, and sunk his fingers deep into his friend's shoulder blade.
He was in for a rude awakening.
"Libitina! The girl! She's here!" Quietus hissed at him, gripping him by the shoulders even tighter and pointing him at the lifeless body of the girl he happened to punch a bit too hard. He flinched back into the wall, bumping his head. "She saw everything, Gunner! Exactly what am I going to do?"
He seemed dazed with pain as he rubbed his throbbing head before realization smacked him across my face. "Oh my-what do we do with her? Kill her?"
Quietus didn't respond immediately. Instead, Quietus pondered the question at hand. Well, did they kill her? It would be easier to do so but then again, they had so many other people to kill. Could they afford to do this?
