This one was actually a song I wrote, but I liked it better as a poem.

They can't see past the mask she's wearing

They can't see she's slowly tearing

They don't see the tears she cries at night

And they don't see she's a fading light

She waits until they're all asleep

In the morning they won't see she's cut deep

She'll fake a smile and giggle a few

No one knows what she's been through

She sleeps at night with a broken heart

And sobs as her lullaby

She thinks she's always in the dark

And she's barley getting by

One day after another of torture

And she's slowly slipping away

Life isn't the best story for her

And she can't last another day

They never took the time to hear her story

And now they've lost their chance

The words they used to break her

Were the ones that condemned her too

And she's unaware that there is more to life than this

And she's finding that she can't smile like before

And she doesn't see the light that shining

And she believes They won't be sad to see her go

And she stayed through that raging storm

She stood until they broke her

She still suffered until she couldn't take it

Anymore

The girls at school they break down crying

When they hear the news

The family's spirit starts slowly dying

Because they never saw through

There's a statue shining in the sun

And a name with A tearful phrase

"Remember me, I was strong,

But we all reach the end of our days."
