Rishab Kundra was furiously typing on his computer when a knock interrupted him. "Come in."He replied without a glance at the door, for he knew who it was. He somehow always felt her presence before she appeared. And this was something that bothered him to no end.

Madhubala slowly opened the door and stepped inside. She place a cup of steaming coffee on his desk and smiled. Just the way he liked it. But the strange fact was that he never told her about the way he liked his coffee."Thank you, Miss Malik." He muttered.

Damn her smile

It always made him feel something he was not supposed to. At least not for a married woman. "It's Madhubala sir, not Miss Malik." She corrected him as she had for the umpteenth time.

"Thank you, Madhubala. Have you checked my schedule for rest of the day?" He inquired.

"Yes sir, you don't have any appointment or meeting for today. You should go home and take a rest." She replied with a strict hint in her tone. He wondered why she used that tone with him sometimes. Maybe that's because she's a mother. He sighed and started to complete his work. He had a terrible day today. He had that nightmare again. Then he was late for his back-to-back three meetings. The last party was really hard to crack. And now his head was hurting like crazy. He was sure he had a fever. Maybe he had to take leave tomorrow.

"You can now leave Madhubala." He sighed and pinched his brows. He heard the door opening but before it could close she turned around.

"And sir, please don't eat takeaway today. Ask your cook to make something plain." And with that, she left. Rishab wondered how she knew such personal information about him. And that made him want her more.

Yes, Rishab Kundra the famous CEO of Kundra Industries had a crush on his personal assistant Madhubala Malik, a happily married woman. Not only married but the mother of a child. No matter how much he tried to avoid her, she always used to find a way towards him. She will never be yours. She's happy with her married life. That left a bitter taste in his mouth. He didn't know when he started to fall for her. Maybe he was in love with her before his accident. But when he returned after that accident, she was there and he fell in love with that perfect smile. She was never unprofessional in her behavior which made things hard for him. Her husband was one of the most loving husbands from what he had heard around the office and they had a four-year-old together.

Rishab entered his house and went towards the kitchen. The emptiness of the house haunted him. He check the refrigerator for any leftovers but there were none. He pulled out his mobile for ordering something when he remembered Madhu's advice. Just then his doorbell rang. He was not in the mood for entertaining guests today but anyhow he went to open the door. In stepped his best friend Kabir.

"Hey, sick guy." Kabir hugged him like a five-year-old. Rishab sighed and turned towards his kitchen. He was sure that Kabir came here for a video game marathon with lots of beer.

"I am not in the mood for beer today." He muttered while rummaging through the cupboard.

"Well, actually I am here with some homemade food and soup," Kabir replied. Rishab turned towards him with a shocked look on his face.

"How?" Was the only question he asked.

"Well, mom was worried about you. So she sent me over with fresh food and soup for you." Kabir replied but Rishab could feel that he was not telling the complete truth. Rishab's parents used to live with him until six months back. They left after he recovered from that accident. Rishab hurriedly served the food and devoured his dinner. He could bet that this food was not made by his mum. Not that it wasn't good. Indeed it was delicious and had a familiar taste. But then why would his mother lie to him, he wondered.
