*Hands you popcorn.*
You could say this chapter is dreamy. You'll thank me for the pun later.
I pulled back from a hug with Dan, confused.
"But Dan, how is this happening? It didn't work..." I sighed, stating the truth.
"I know Phil. I know. But you're in a dream." Dan smiled, and hugged me again.
"I wish it worked though." I shook my head and kicked little stones that were laying around on the floor.
"Me to. But at least we are here now, in this dream, where we can finally be together." Dan said, pulling away from the hug and looking me in the eyes.
It felt so real, all these hugs, but I knew they weren't, they couldn't be. But here I am, dreaming about him, dreaming about something I wish could happen. It didn't work, but I guess it was worth a try right? Right? My thoughts caved in, and I sat down on a nearby bench. I rested my head in my hands and a tear rolled down my cheek. I felt a taller person sit beside me, and wrapped an arm around me.
"Whats wrong Phil?" Dan asked, pulling my head toward his chest.
"I made you believe that it was going to work and it didn't. It's all my fault." I wiped a tear away.
"Nothing is your fault, you hear me? You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, don't ever think differently. " He comforted me, and now that I think about it, whats the point being sad when I could spend this time with him. Right here. Right now.
"Dan?" I whispered, lifting my head up, and wiping my last remaining tear.
"Yes Phil?" He responded.
"I love you." I whispered even quieter than before.
"I love you too." He replied, resting his head on mine, as I leaned on his shoulder.
The scene was beautiful, the grass was green, the sun was shining, and everything was perfect. Singing birds filled the air, and so did the sweet smell of flowers. I looked up at Dan, and honestly, he is everything I want. To be able to feel him for the first time, without going completely through him, was amazing.
"What do you wanna do now?" I asked, running my fingers through his soft hair.
"Anything, this is your dream, idiot." He giggled, holding my other hand.
"This is perfect." I observed.
"You're perfect." He smiled, and planted a small kiss on my cheek.
"Let's go somewhere." I said, jumping up and dragging him by the hand.
I dragged him to a patch of glittering grass, where sunlight was shining. I laid down and he joined me. Clouds and more clouds were passing by, each with their interesting and unique shapes. Each and everyone being different. I watched a big ball of white fluff, form into a lion, my favourite animal.
"Hey Dan that one looks like a lion!" I squealed, and pointed in the direction of the beautiful cloud.
"And that one looks like a dinosaur!" Dan said, pointing in some sort of direction.
"I don't see it." I pouted like a little child.
"Here." He said, stroking my cheek, then pointing my eyeline in the correct direction.
"Oh I see it this time!" I clapped my hands, and turned to face him.
He rolled onto his side, so we were face to face, nose to nose, heart to heart. The sunlight made his eyes sparkle. He smiled, which made his little dimple pop out. He is so cute.
