four: clones

danny was having a great day so far. football practice went well, he had intercepted more balls this time and overall his performance on the field improved at a large scale.

he was currently happily heading to ap biology, his favourite subject out of everything else. there was simply something so intriguing about the circulatory system of humans and how respiration takes place in the mitochondria to danny.

he walked into the classroom and took his regular seat behind michael, the boy whom one of his best friends was so obsessed about. since he had to pass by michael every time he needed to get to his seat, danny would wave to michael and give him a toothy smile while the pink haired boy warmly returned it.

both of them weren't really that buddy buddy, but michael was nice to danny and in return, danny was nice to michael and there is all there is to it.

when other people started to fill in the seats, he noticed a certain boy with very broad shoulders in a leather jacket walking in. danny might have giggled deep down inside him, making a mental note to go and talk to this boy after class.

ap biology was a breeze for danny, he prepares for the class a day before the lesson, all ready for the lesson before him. ms martin found danny amazing to teach, but, sometimes it gets a little annoying for her when danny wants to answer every single question she asks. however, danny did get straight As in this class, and which teacher wouldn't want that kind of student?

usually when the class was close to the end, danny would slowly pack his things while asking ms martins questions about other things outside the classroom about biology. but today was different; danny had a boy to chase.

"hey!" danny immediately rushed to catch up with the boy he convinced he was in like with by now. "you're from music class right?"

the boy looked at danny quizzically, knitting his eyebrows, then had a glint in his eyes, starting to confuse danny.

"yes, i'm from music class," the boy replied. "what's your name?"

"danny!" he squealed, over the moon about how the boy he liked asked for his name. "yours?"

"ethan. nice to meet you danny," ethan reached his hand out for a handshake and danny graciously accepted it.

at lunch, danny was sitting with the usual friends he always was with — a normal calum and a michael-obsessed luke. danny saw that the boy from his biology class -ethan– was trying to find a seat in the chaotic cafeteria.

"cal, can i invite someone to sit with us?" danny asked the boy and he nodded, luke still staring at michael, as always.

"hey ethan! come sit here," danny happily waved to the boy he just met.

ethan saw him and immediately made his way over to their table.

"ethan, this is my best friend calum and a weird luke," danny introduced. "and calum, this is ethan from biology and music class!"

"is he the one that you told me about a few days ago while hemmings here was staring at michael because wow, he's a catch!" calum whispered to danny, only loud enough for them to hear— or so calum thought.

"you were talking about me?" ethan asked and danny's cheeks started to grow red.

"nothing bad," danny replied shyly.

"who is he looking at?" ethan gestured to luke, who was still staring at michael, his food already cold.

"michael clifford. he had a crush on him since freshman year. what a guy." calum answered because danny was nervous.

"michael and i are neighbours, but he's closer to my brother," ethan nodded and replied.

"hey! i was looking for you for a solid ten minutes! i texted you and called you but you weren't available!" a voice very similar to ethan's was heard followed by a chuckle from calum — danny recognised.

he looked up to find another splitting image of ethan, just that he was wearing different clothes.

"ethan how did you clone yourself?!" danny's first reaction to it was that sentence of embarrassment.

"ethan?" the other boy questions. "aiden, what the hell! did you try to trick this poor boy by telling him that you were me?"

danny looked at the two boys who looked exactly the same. he swore he almost wanted to pass out.

"who are you? you can't sit with us!" a luke chimed into the conversation and calum slapped his face, making sure that the boy went back to staring at michael.

"i'm ethan, the real ethan," ethan looked at danny. "you're the boy from music class right?"

"yes, yes i am. i'm danny, nice to meet you," danny replied, almost stuttering, but he got himself together.

"how about i take you on a date to compensate for how much lies my straight brother has fed you?" ethan asked danny, eyeing aiden, almost burning holes in his face.

"s-sure!"

oh boy, how did danny stutter.
