The Signs in Love

Aries: Not admitting it at first. They sneak up on you and somewhere in between laughing and fighting you realize it's love. Gas station roses and cheap peach cider. Late nights spent driving without any idea where you're even going but it's okay as long as you're together.

Taurus: Love at first sight. Their name fits just right in between your lips. Boxes of chocolate and clammy hands. Spending three hours on the first date talking about everything and nothing and laughing the entire time.

Gemini: Having chemistry so powerful it runs electric in your veins. You're independent but you wouldn't mind having them around for the rest of your life. Shaking breaths and cold feet. Not even flinching the first time they see you naked.

Cancer: Unconditional. There is darkness in this world but they are a light. Awkward poetry and shared straws. Standing behind doors just to jump out and scare them when they walk by, even though you know they knew you were there and are just pretending to make you happy.

Leo: Falling head over heels. You're used to giving your all and when they give something back it feels like home. Stuffed teddy bears won from carnivals and bookmarked pages they would like. Crying the first time they say 'I love you'.

Virgo: Incalculable. Some things make sense in this world but love isn't one of them. You don't even mind. Uncontrollable giggling in library shelves and kisses on hurt fingers. You run your fingers through their hair over and over and over and over again until every curl is in your memory forever.

Libra: The type you see in movies. Music swells and sometimes there is beauty in the ending even if it is tragic. Finger drawings on foggy car windows and mixtapes. Sometimes they leave and you let them go with the idea that they were a stepping stone to your one true love.

Scorpio: A love with a passion so burning it makes the sun jealous. You are either all in or not interested at all. Teeth marks and smeared lipstick. Having your heart race every time they even look at you.

Sagittarius: Everything starts off as a joke. Nothing is serious and you think of them as a way to pass time. Late night texts and croaky morning voices. Feeling fear all the way through your toes the first time you look at them and feel real love.

Aquarius: Life is a joke and love is the punchline. You're always laughing and the rainclouds in your head have dispersed. Standing on your tiptoes to kiss and splitting the last piece of pizza bite for bite. Everything is calm and the tidal waves that have wreaked havoc on your entire body slows to soothing waves.

Pisces: Love on fire. But not a roaring inferno, more like the comfortable and reliable warmth from flickering embers. Shaking wrapped presents to try and guess what's inside and morning breath. Nothing exists but you and them and oh god it is everything all at once.
