Chapter 9: The Accidental Kiss

Ratliff's POV:
Oh my gosh. Rydel kissed me! It was on accident though. But man do I miss that! She freezes and I watch as she slowly looks down at the ground. I glance at the boys and see them watching us wide-eyed. I reach my finger out and lift her chin up and I can read apprehension in her eyes but I lean closer and close my lips over here. She hesitates at first but then wraps her arms around my neck and I pull her closer. I don't know when it happened but all the sudden our tongues are battling for dominance. "I didn't know Rydel knew what French kissing was." I hear Riker whisper and I lay my hands on Rydel's cheeks and slowly pull away. Ever time we kiss I feel like it's still the first time.

Rydel's POV:
I can't believe I just practically–well I actually did–made out with Ratliff. In front of all my brothers! I look at Ratliff whose holding my face in his hands and he smiles "I have one question." Ratliff says and I slide my hands around his waist to pull him closer to me "How'd you end up pregnant? I honestly don't remember." He says and the boys look in between us still with the shocked looks on their face "Do you remember the Louder album release party?" I ask and he nods "Well, we ended up getting drunk and the next morning I woke up to you next to me in bed.....naked." I whisper and his eyes widen "Really? I-I don't remember anything but me kissing you and you kissed back." He whispers "I woke up the next morning next to you and I practically fell out of bed. The next week, I started feeling sick, so I got a test and it said positive. I didn't know if you'd want the baby so I left." I whisper and he kisses me again but this time rougher. He backs me up against the living room wall and I wrap my arms around his neck. A couple minutes later the boys pull us apart and I look at Ellington who's breathing heavily and I notice my own ragged breathing. Riker walks in front of me and I look up at him with a sheepish smile "What just happened?" He says and I smile as Ratliff walks over to me "Can I talk to you in the kitchen?" He says and I nod. I follow him into the kitchen and I sit up in the counter and he leans against the counter opposite of me "I wish you would have told me about the kids." He says and I look at the floor "I'm sorry, Ell. I was scared that if I told you you might not want them. I also was scared that when my family found out, that they'd kick me out of the band and the family because I got pregnant out of wedlock. When I had the kids I was scared. I was their only parent and I didn't think I could take care of them by myself but found a good support group who helped me out for a little while and I finally figured out that God meant for me to be their mother. I would see pictures of you online and think how much I wish you'd known about the kids. I know you will be a great father." I say and by this time I have tears coming down my cheeks and his eyes soften and he walks over and hugs me, pulling me off the counter. I wrap my arms around his torso and he tightens his arms around me "I'm sorry." He whispers in my ear and I turn my head to see him looking at me "Rydel." He says and I lean in and kiss him. He pins me against the kitchen counter and starts kissing my neck. I run my hands through the back of his hair and he lifts his head and looks at me "I'm dying to kiss you  right now." He says and I lean in and kiss him

Ratliff's POV:
I hear someone walk into the kitchen and I lift my head from kissing Rydel to see the boys watching us. Riker walks over and looks at me "What is going on between you two?" He asks and Rydel walks over and hugs him tightly "What's wrong, Delly?" He asks and I see her shoulders tense as she looks up at him "All we did is kiss a couple times." She says and I smirk at them "Yeah. It's no big deal." I say and Riker looks down at Rydel "Are you okay?" He asks and she smiles and nods "I'm fine." She says
