Chapter 11 ~ Reunite

Max had something special for me. It was a week after our 4 month anniversary. He had me blindfolded in the car so I couldn't see where we were going.

"Can I have a hint?" I asked impatiently.

"Best." He replied. I knew he had a smirk on his face.

"That's the best you can give?"

"Yep."

Soon we arrived at our destination. I heard the door on the opposite side of Max open and close. I was so anxious.

"You can take off the blindfold now love." Max said. I excitedly took it off and looked to my right to see my best friend Madi sitting right next to me! I gave her a huge hug, not saying anything.

"Hey Riley."

"Hey Madi. I missed you."

"I missed you too runt." She said giving me the look down. I was always a few inches shorter than she was. I took a moment to study her. She still had her long, blond hair in waves as usual, and her bright blue eyes still sparkled with adventure. She was absolutely gorgeous.

"You look amazing."

"You do too shawty!" We laughed together like nothing had been different. All of a sudden, she started signing to me. We both were close to fluent in American Sign Language,so this was easy. We had already come up with a name sign for Max, so he didn't know we were talking about him.

'You forgot to tell me Max is hot.'

'Oh.'

"You ready to get back?" Max asked with an eyebrow raised. I smiled and nodded. We headed back to my place.

"Max, did you clean up the guest room?"

"Yes I did darling."

"Good," I said turning to Madi, "you will be staying in the room across the hall from me."

"What about Max? Or do you sleep together?" My best friend asked. I blushed. Max decided to save me.

"I have my own house, I'll be there. I will stop by a lot though." Madi nodded softly.

After 15 minutes of driving, we were back home. I got Madi settled in and she decided to get some sleep. I went out to the living room to see Max still there.

"I thought you left baby."

"How could I leave without giving you a kiss goodbye?" He said walking closer. I just smiled.

"Madi thinks your hot." I said with a giggle. Max chuckled.

"She would think spicy or beau were flawless then."

"We should play matchmaker!"

"Okay, you get some rest and we'll talk about it tomorrow." He said softly. He kissed me goodnight and left. I went to bed and fell asleep immediately. I was reunited with one of the few people who cared about me. I had a little piece of family right across the hall.

The next morning, I woke up and made brekky for Madi and I. She woke up just as I was finishing.

"Hey girly! How did ya sleep?"

"Amazingly." She replied grogily. She sat down to eat and was apparently forgot about my cooking skills because she kept commenting on it that morning. She made me promise to make her crepes for lunch. No problem. She went to take a shower. I took this time to watch my favorite show, 'How To Rock' Max is in it and he's amazing. It's sad that there's only one season though. As soon as Maci got done, I turned it off. Nobody had to know about it, right? After we ate, we decided to go to the beach.
