Chapter 13 ~ A Small Date And A Sad Goodbye

Tomorrow was the day Madi left. She's been talking to Sam for a couple days now. She was texting him when all of a sudden, she bolted out the door. Max and I look at each other very confused and followed her. There was Sam with a boquet of roses, asking her to go on a date with him. She immedietly said yes and hugged him. I looked to Max and shrugged. We walked inside hand in hand and sat on the couch. After about 5 minutes, Madi walked back in happily.

"Riley, I need an outfit for tonight." She said excitedly.

"You can borrow one of my new outfits." I said as I got up to find her something. I realized Max wasn't following. "Max, we need your help."

"Why me?"

"You're friends with him, you know what he likes."

"Oh, right." He said getting up and following us to my closet. Max looked around at my things for a while before he grabbed my short shorts that he loved and threw them at Madi. "I love these, so Sam will too." He said before rummaging even more. Madi and I looked at each other and laughed. Then all of a sudden Max used his Elmo voice. "Sam loves Elmo! Put this on! Sam will love it!"

"Oh my God. Riley, what is your boyfriend doing?"

"His.. Elmo... Impression." I said in between laughs, "Max, stop it!"

"Max isn't here right now! Max is busy, but Max loves his girlfriend Riley very much."

"Elmo, give the voice to Max." I said sternly.

"Okay." And with that, Elmo voice was gone.

"Oh my God that was adorable!" Madi said. Max and I just laughed. We got Madi ready and all prettied up for her date. All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door. Madi squealed and went to the door. After a quick goodbye, she was gone.

"Is that how you acted before our first date?" Max asked. I laughed.

"No."

"Oh okay good."

"I was worse."

"Wow."

"What?"

"Nothing darling, nothing."

"I'm gonna pack up her things for her. She leaves tomorrow." I said sadly. I packed up all of Madi's things and put them next to her bed. Then Max and I sat down on the couch and watched a movie. A few hours later, I got a text from Madi saying she was on her way home. about 15 minutes later, Madi opened the door with the biggest smile on her face. Sam walked in behind her. Him and Max did that weird handshake hug thing and went to turn on the Xbox. "No Xbox tonight. It's movie night. Max you know the rules."

"Right. Okay. Wanna watch The Conjuring?" Max said with an evil grin.

"Don't you dare!"

"Fine." We ended up watching MegaMind with me curled up with Max, and Madi curled up with Sam. I slowly drifted away. The last thing I heard was Max's sweet voice. "Goodnight beautiful."

I woke up to the smell of bacon. God I loved it when Max cooked me bacon. I got up out of my bed and got ready. Max must have brought me into my room last night. I put on a black sports bra with a lime green and black striped over shirt that went to my belly button as well as my ripped skinny jeans that Max loved. I did my hair in a messy bun with my bangs down. I walked out and kissed Max on the cheek.

"Good morning baby!" I said cheerfully.

"You're awfully cheerful for a sad day." He replied softly.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot." I said sadly.

"Baby, it's gonna be alright." Just then, Madi came out with her luggage.

"Eat. Then we'll go." I said softly to my best friend. She nodded then sat down to eat. Then, Sam walked out. He must have slept here too. He grabbed a plate as well. We ate then piled into Sams car. When we got to the airport, we all got out and said our goodbyes. Max was first, me second, Sam last. Max gave Madi a hug and told her to be safe. She nodded and walked up to me. We instantly started crying.

"Thank you so much Riley. This was amazing. Love you."

"Love you too darling. Text or call."

Then she moved on to Sam. They kissed then said their goodbyes. We all watched as Madi slowly disappeared into the airport. We got back into Sams car. He dropped us off at home. I was sad Madi left. Max tried to cheer me up, nothing really worked.
