Painful goodbyes

So I'm skipping ahead a few months into the relationship because I don't even know what I was planning for this story.

Today was the last day I had with Max until he left for 6 months for his tour. I was really happy for him, but completely sad that he had to leave so soon.

"There's my beautiful girlfriend." Max said with a smile, coming down the stairs. Shirtless. I forced a smile as he kissed my forehead.

"Hi baby." I spoke quietly, trying to keep my voice from cracking. he pulled away from the hug we ended up in, holding onto my shoulders softly.

"Hey, it's all gonna be okay. I'll be back before you know it." I nodded. "And I'll be back for Christmas."

"Max you don't celebrate Christmas."

"I am this year." My face lit up. Max is Jewish so he never celebrates Christmas.

"Awe baby! You don't have to for me."

"But I want to. I'll be back before you know it baby girl." He said, putting on his shirt and then leaning in to kiss me for the last time till Christmas. As he walked out the door, he gave me a sad smile and closed the door. I started bawling instantly.

"Baby girl, please stop crying. I'll be back before you know it, and we'll Skype all the time, okay?" I didn't say a word, the tears were choking me; stopping me from speaking. "I love you Riley."

"I love you too." I spoke, barely above a whisper. I heard his footsteps go down the stairs of the porch and a few minutes later, heard Spicy yell out.

"We love you crazy!" I smiled sadly and walked up to my room. I stopped halfway down the hallway and fell down. Our 1 year is next week. I felt too weak to get up. All of a sudden, the door opened and I heard someone come up the stairs.

"Oh my god! Riley!" It was DKarp. "Max get up here!" He wrapped his arms around me and picked me up, taking me to my room. All of a sudden, max ran up to my bed.

"Baby what's wrong?"

"I just fell. Y'all act like I passed out or something."

"Sorry." DKarp said softly.

"God I hate to leave you Ry." Max sighed.

"Max, I'm fine. Just go have fun on tour, okay?"

"Riley, I know it's our 1 year next week. I don't want to leave, but this is the biggest break I've ever had baby."

"I know Max, and it's okay. I'll be talking to you every day hun." in all reality, I was crushed; but I wasn't going to let that stop Max from his dreams. By now DKarp had left so Max and I could say our goodbyes again.

"I love you so much Riley."

"I love you so much more." I said as he leaned in and gave me the most passionate kiss I've ever experienced.
