~Ashley's P.O.V.~
"Hi. Welcome to East Bay Performing Arts College. We appreciate your interest in our arts, and we hope you enjoy your stay here. Here is your dorm number and key. My name is Brittney, and I am the student advisor. If you have any questions, feel free to ask."
I walked away from the prissy white girl and walked back to my parents.
"Oh, my baby's going to college," my mom said as she scooped me up into a bear hug.
"Mom...," I whined. "This is so embarassing."
"Get over it." my dad said as he hugged me too. "My baby girl is going to college."
"It was like yesterday she was crushin on that Latimore boy in her pink puffy dress, and now she's onto Chris Brown and her heels and spikes," my mother said as she wiped her tears.
"Mom, dont speak of that here," I said as I grabbed my bags.
God, can they be more embarassing, I thought.
"Alright, alright. I just didnt know it would be so soon, baby," my mother said.
"I told you last night," I said.
"I know. I'm gone miss you, baby," my mother said.
"I'm gone miss you, too, Mom," I said as I blew them kisses.
"Call us when you get settled, sweetheart," my dad said.
"Gotcha."
I turned around and rolled my eyes playfully.
I love my parents, but they can be so embarassing.
"Embarassing, huh?" a female voice asked.
I looked to my left and saw a short girl that looked like Paula from BGC 10.
"Yeah," I responded.
"I know the feeling. Hi, my name is Jordyn."
The girl stuck her hand out for me to shake it. I set my bags down and shook her hand.
"Let me help you," Jordyn said as she picked up my duffel bag and backpack. "Where are you going?"
"Uh, building 5, dorm number 10," I responded as I looked down at my schedule and packet.
"Building 5 is back that way," Jordyn said as she turned back around.
"Well, let's embark on this journey," I said.
We laughed.
"So, how long have you been here?" I asked.
"Uh, about 2 hours. I got here like super super early," Jordyn responded.
"Oh, what's your major?"
"Theatre. How about you?"
"Vocal music."
"Cool, cool. We'll probably be doing some collabos together. The drama department and the singers work together on all the plays and performances. As a matter of fact, the uh, Teen Island Competion is coming up in a few weeks," Jordyn explained.
"Oh, really?" I asked curiously.
A competion, huh? When I know for a fact Im gonna do it, Jordyn says...
"Yeah. I wasnt going to perform. I won it last year, and I dont wanna go through all those changes again. It was hard enough last year."
"Why? What happened?"
"Its nothing. I just got mixed up with the guest judge. And, it didnt turn out to good. It got out to the media and, yeah. Its nothing," Jordyn responded.
