The Way My Life Sucks

Chapter 13

Today is June 2nd and its my 16th birthday. I never have birthday parties because i don't like being celebrated. I don't even like getting presents. I usually only get presents from my mom and Gwen. Thinking about her makes me so sad. Its been almost 9 months since we aren't friends anymore. I cant believe how fast this school year went. I walk into school and see Peter. Its been almost a month since we have been dating, he is so wonderful. He is the perfect boyfriend ever. Peter walks up to me and plants a kiss on my lips. He hands me a little wrapped box. I look at him and raise my eyebrow.

"Whats this?" I ask.

"A present." He replies.

"I told you not to get me anything. Here." I shove the box into his stomach but he doesn't take it.

"No. I'm not taking it back. I got it for you. Here." He takes the box and opens it to reveal a little heart gold necklace with a diamond in the middle. He turns it over and it reads 'I love you, forever and always. ~Peter.'

 "Peter..." I start, flabbergasted. "Its so beautiful, I love it." I give him a hug and ask him to put it on which he does gladly. I give him a small kiss.

"I'm taking you out later." He says.

"Where?" 

"Its a surprise." He replies and walks down the all. He turns around and shouts, "Ill pick you up when schools over!"

I smile as he turns back around and continues down the hall when Gwen walks up to me. I just stare at her shocked expecting her to say something, but nothing comes out. She takes me by surprise and hugs me.

"I'm so sorry Jo." I feel something wet drop onto my shoulder and realize shes crying.

"Its okay." I reply continuing to hug her.

She pulls away. "You were right about them. I should have listened, I'm so stupid and I'm so sorry for ditching you. Can you please forgive me?"

"Of course I can!" I reply and give her another hug. "Ive missed you, Gwen."

"Ive missed you too, so much Jo!" She gives me a envelope. I glare at her.

"You i don't like gifts."

"Too bad." We walk don the hall to class together laughing. Ive missed my best friend...

 "Peter can I take this blindfold off yet?" I ask with Peter guiding me as I walk so I don't fall or anything.

"No not yet. Almost I promise." H continues to guide me until he tells me to stop. "Okay now."

I take the blindfold off to see Peter standing in front of me holding a little puppy. A little gray and white pit bull. 

"Oh my Gosh!" I scream. "Its so freaking cute!" I say while taking the little pup into my arms. "Peter this is so great!" I put the puppy down with the leash and lean up and kiss him. 

He pulls away and says, "Happy birthday."

"You know I don't like presents..." I say quietly.

"I don't care because I love you."

"I love you too."
