Chapter 14

5 Years Later

I was playing with Lila. I love her so much, she is still just like the playful little puppy when I first got her. Peter and I have been dating for nearly 5 years now. I love him so much. Today is my 21st birthday and I'm at my apartment with my mom, Gwen, her boyfriend, Zack, they are so cute for each other. They met at college orientation and have been crazy about each other ever since. Julia is also here and the love of my life, Peter. He walks over to me and kisses me. His lips always feel the same, soft like a carebear's tummy.

"Hey babe." He says.

"Hey love."

"Happy birthday."

"Thank you." He kisses my forehead.

My mom drags me over to the side and gives me a little envelope.

"What is this mom?" I ask.

"Just a little something for you and Peter."

"Mom....if its a condom I swear..." I start.

"No honey!" She laughs. "Its just a little getaway for you two." I open the envelope and pull out two tickets to Hawaii. I pull my mom into a huge hug.

"Thanks Mom...I love you."

"I love you too honey....so much!" She squeezes me tighter and kisses my shoulder.

"I have an announcement everyone." Peter says and everyone gives him their attention. "JO...would you come here...." He holds out his hand for me to take which I gladly accept.

"I have know you since we were young and in high school. That first time I bumped into in the hallway I looked into your eyes and fell for you so hard and so fast it was unbelievable. For our first date I took to a romantic ice skating rink where we had out first kiss. When our lips touched for the first they were so soft, like a crebear's tummy. That, when our lips were touching was when I knew I was in love with you. But sadly I ended it because I had an important mission. When tat mission was over we met up again and I kissed you and confessed my love for you. We have been through everything together. For the past 5 years I have been falling deeper in love with you. What am trying to say is that I want to keep falling in love with you for the rest of my life."

He bends down on one knee and pulls out a little black box and opens it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. I gasp.

"Joanna, will you do the amazing honor of letting me do that? Will you marry me?"

"Of course I will!" I say happily! He slides the ring on and i jump into his arms for a huge hug! I am so happy I have tears of joy! Everyone is clapping. I pull away and we kiss. I love this feeling. He pulls out of the kiss and says, "I love you."

"I love you too."
