“What took you so long?” Jade said turning to the laundry room door as Mari walked in with a basket.

“Sorry I was taking my medications.” Mari said putting the basket down on a table.

“Medications. What?” Jade said confused jumping off the washer she was sitting on.

“Oh, member that ear pain I had? I finally went to see a doctor. Turns out I had an ear infection, so she put me on some antibiotics. No biggie, I’m almost finished with them.” Mari answered pulling her clothes out and dumping them in another washer.

“Oh, Ok. So I know you know I didn’t ask you to come here to actually wash clothes.” Jade said hoping back onto the Washer.

“What? But I was so excited about getting to wash clothes together.” Mari said in a sarcastic tone then added. “Of course I didn’t think that. So what is it?” Mari said smiling and closing the washer door after adding soap then jumping to sit on top of the machine as well.

“Look I know you are mad at me for deciding to go to Sweden with Niall. I just really don’t want to sit around and miss him the whole time. Trying to concentrate on a stupid class isn’t going to work either. I want to be with him as long as I can. They leave back on tour after this new CD is out and then it will really be hard to see him. We are young we should travel when we can and have fun. School can wait.” Jade said.

“I’m not mad at you for ditching me to go to Sweden.” Mari said getting a smile from Jade but then added

“I’m disappointed in you. We’ve worked hard in school we only have so many classes left to give up now. We are so close. Yes we are young and we should find ways to have fun. But see this is my dream. I’m so close to finishing these classes to finally become what I’ve wanted to be all along, a marine biologist. You are so close to your dream too. We don’t really have money to waste and travel and have fun, we should be using it to finish paying our classes. Of course I’m going to miss Harry every sec of everyday. But he has his dreams and his have come true and he’s working to keep them, me I’m working to reach mine, we understand that and Harry knows why I can’t travel with him. I just thought you out of all people would understand that. We have come this far together Jade.” Mari finished. Jade’s smile had faded way before Mari could finish talking.

“It’s one freaken class over the summer. Lighten up a little. Niall is going to help me out with the trip, we are going half and half.” Jade answered.

“Not for me. You know that class you can’t take until next year again they only give it so often and you need it to take the next class. So don’t tell me lighten up. I’m sorry I thought you took school more seriously. That’s nice that Niall is going to pay for you.” Mari said.

“Why do you say “That’s nice that Niall is going to pay for you” in that way. Do you think I am using him for his money? Really Mari I can’t believe you.” Jade said.

“In what way exactly Jade? Please don’t make up scenarios that aren’t true in your head. You always do that. Just remember what your dreams were before this happened to us. Harry is the love of my life yes, but I have other things to get done just like how he does.” Mari said.

“I did not forget Maritza! I just need some time off from school. Why can’t you understand that, stop being such a judgmental bitch, I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves you soon.” Jade said then put her hand over her mouth.

Mari felt like the air was punched out of her. She starred at Jade in disbelief. She hoped off the washer and started heading to the door.

“I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry. Wait.” Jade said frozen on top of the washer.

“No. You did mean it. It’s ok. I’m sorry you feel that way. I need some time off from school too but I need this, I wasn’t born into money like some people, you seem to forget that Jade. Everything has always been easier for you. I just want to get to my dream where I will be happy and be able to keep me stable financially. You have fun in Sweden. Take loads of pictures. Let’s hope you don’t meet any judgmental bitches. Goodbye Jade.” Mari said turning back to the door as tears fell down her cheeks.

“Mari…” Jade said sliding down the washer her eyes over flowing with tears.
