Chapter 14

“I knew I should have never eaten that last night.” Mari was telling herself as she started getting up from where she had been sitting next to the toilet.

“Ughh.” She said as she breathed out and clutched her stomach. She took out her tooth brush and added tooth paste, as she brushed her teeth she peeked out the bathroom door Lux was still sound asleep. It was 6:25am so Mari decided to take the fastest shower ever before Lux had the chance to wake up.

A few minutes later Mari sat at the edge of the bed combing through her wet hair. Lou said Lux woke up nearly at 7am and it was now 6:46. Mari heard Lux move a little and turned to face her as her eyes started parting open. A smile spread across her face.

“Hello princess.” Mari said. Lux stayed laying in the bed looking around for about another 5 more minutes until she got up and started saying “Juice, Juice” to Mari.

The girls ate breakfast, pancakes and scrambled eyes, and then Mari took the baby a shower and got her ready for the day she had planned.

“We are all ready for the zoo Lux. Look at us.” Mari said lifting Lux up so she could see herself in the mirror. She had dressed Lux in a cute outfit and given her a small braid. She strapped a back pack to lux filled with some toys and her blanket, while she swung a bag of her own over her shoulder, this one filled with snacks, water, juice and their lunch. Mari decided to eat lunch after the zoo at the nearby park. She gave Lux her hot pink sunglasses and snapped a quick picture which she sent to Lou and Harry reading “Ready for the Zoo!”. And they headed towards the door.

“Hey Drea and Mike! Grocery shopping I see. I need to get that done soon too” Mari Said picking up Lux.

“Yea, nice specials happening right now in the super market.” Mike said.

“Who’s this pretty girl” Drea asked playing with Lux’s hair.

“Well, she’s my niece Lux, have her all to myself today. We are headed to the zoo.” Mari said.

“Hi Lux, I’m Andrea and this is Michael. We are your lovely aunt’s neighbors.” Dread said smiling at Lux.

“Hi” Lux said to the couple.

“Well we shall let you get going, have fun on that girl’s day.” Mike said.

“Thanks! Have a lovely day yourself.”Mari said

“Nice seeing you, talk later.” Drea said waving at the girls as she followed Michael into their apart.

“Bye.” Mari said as her and Lux waved goodbye.

“Uuu, Uuu, Ahh, ahhh” Mari was saying as she tickled Lux while they stood by the monkey exhibit at the zoo. The monkey exhibit was the last  one in the park and although Mari and Lux had shared some snacks she was getting a bit hungry. So she decided to leave the zoo and find a nice spot in the grass in the park. She pulled out a small blanket from her bag and her and Lux sat as they ate their ham and cheese sandwiches and drank their apple juice. She saw Lux eyeing the playground a few feet away so she packed up to take Lux there for a while after that Lux  started to look tired so she decided it was time to head home. It was already 3 in the afternoon and Lux’s naptime.

As she drove home a call came in and she used her car’s Bluetooth connection to answer it. Lou’s voice came in through the speakers. Mari turned to see if Lux could hear her mom but she was sound asleep.

“She’s sleeping, I’m sorry. She had so much fun. I took loads of pictures, sorry for sending so many.” Mari said

“I don’t mind, she looked like she was and I bet she did. It is around her nap time and having the big day she had I’m sure she will be out for at least 2 hours.” Lou said.
