“Harry! Your phone keeps buzzing.” Niall Yelled from inside the bedroom where him Jade and Liam were playing some Fifa.

Harry who was in the bathroom ran to his phone with a wraped towel around his waist. He sliped out onto the patio answering the phone without looking.

“Babe! I miss you.” He said.

“I miss you too.” A female voice not belonging to Mari answered back.

Harry froze, looking around, then at his phone. The caller ID read, Allyson.

“Hello? Did you hang up?” Allyson was saying as Harry put the phone back to his ear.

“Sorry, I thought you were my Girl Friend.” Harry said with disappointment in his voice.

“I sorta once was.” Allyson answered back flirtingly.

“So what’s up?” Harry said ignoring her previous statement.

“I heard you are coming into town and I wanted to see if you maybe wanted to have lunch. By the see’s of it Maritza isn’t around I was kinda hoping to chat with her.”Allyson said.

“Yes, I will be. But I don’t know how my schedule will be, I’m trying to see if I can fly her out. So maybe you just might.” Harry said.

“oh.” Allyson said then slowly added. “Well let me know. I’ll phone you later. Say hello to your girlfriend for me when you speak. Hope to see you soon handsome, bye.” Allyson said.

“Have a good one.” Harry said than hung up the phone.

Lou had already gone and Mari sat on her couch looking at her phone. Thinking about what Lou had told her. “Just call him, he’s been calling like crazy. Just text’s aren’t going to work. When he fly’s in on Tuesday you can tell him in person. Everything will be fine.”

She opened up her phone to Harry’s contact info and dialed. He picked up after the first ring.

“Babe?”

His voice soothed her in just the way she needed, but also terrified her.

“Hi.” She said laying down on the couch rubbing her belly.

“I miss you so much. I feel like I haven’t heard your voice in forever. I know you’ve been busy and everything but I really missed hearing you.”Harry said.

“I’m sorry.” Is all Mari could say.

“This long distance stuff sucks.”Harry said.

“Yeah, it sure does.” Mari said then added “But you’ll be here soon right?”

There was a small pause before “About that. I hadn’t told you because we hadn’t spoken over the phone but they are flying us out tonight to the states for some promo. We will be over there for a week. I wanted to see if you wouldn’t mind flying out?” Harry said with hope in his voice.

“You mean you’re not getting here Tuesday? And won’t be here for my birthday?” Mari said as tears formed in her eyes.

“We still can be together but in the states I can fly you out and we can spend all week together.” Harry said

“That would be nice if I didn’t have school, or a job or If I wasn’t…. never mind.” Mari said a little upset.

“You can’t ask for a week off?” Harry asked.

“A week in summer classes is like a whole month Harry. You know I can’t miss that much.” Mari said.

“I mean it’s for us to be together. I miss you.”

“I have my own responsibilities too Harry, I can’t just up and leave for a week. There's only two weeks left till finals, I can’t go. I just thought you had your days off for my birthday.” Mari said starting to get a bit emotional.

“I did but they made these plans, and I can’t not go.” Harry said.

“Exactly. Look I really don’t want to fight about this, especially not in this condition. You have fun in the states, heck,  call up Allyson go out to dinner with her for my birthday. …”Mari was saying.

“She actually called me. Allyson.” Harry was saying.

“Wait what?”

“Yeah, she heard we are going over and wanted to go out for lunch, with you too of course.”

“Sure, with me. Ugh. Skank.” Mari said.

“Woah. Maritza.” Harry said “Why are you being like this?”

“I’ve been a bit moody lately, I’m sorry. Look I’m going to go now. I’m sure you have to get ready for your flight.” Mari said wiping a tear from her eye.

“Don’t hang up on me if you’re mad. Come on babe we haven’t even been on the phone for longer than 20min’s. I miss you, we don’t talk on here as much and you want to spend our time fighting.” Harry was saying.

Mari sniffed. As she was trying to wipe her tears.

“I’m sorry. I just… it’s something I can’t explain over the phone.” She said.

“Are you crying? No, don’t. It’s okay you can tell me.” Harry said.

“You need to be here for that. I can’t.” She said through sobs.

“It’s bad? I can cancel everything and go. They’ll be mad but you are more important.” He said.

“Oh no. Please, please don’t. It can wait. You can’t cancel it will cost you guys so much money. Just go do what you are supposed to. Don’t worry about it. I’m ok.”

“Are you sure?” Harry said.

“Positive.” Mari said rubbing her belly.

They continued talking for a while longer before Harry had to leave to catch his flight. He promised her when he was given the chance he would fly to her and they would spend time together and whatever day it was they would celebrate her birthday since he wasn’t going to be able to be with her on Wednesday. So now, Mari was going to be spending her birthday alone. Harry wasn’t coming & Jade wasn’t either. Her family was out of town for a soccer tournament her brother was in and Lou was back in London.

“Well at least I will have you.” Mari said looking down at her belly.
