Thwang! I shot another arrow. Bullseye, as always. I shot another one then changed the bow back to glasses form. I sighed. This is boring. I thought. Then I heard a big boom and saw campers running to the border. I shoved my glasses on my head and ran with them. I looked around, trying to find Tyler. I finally found him in the crowd. "What's going on!?!?" I yelled. "Apparently the hunters are arriving with Apollo!" "Cool!" Maybe he's our father... Yeah, three days, still no claiming. They said that maybe our dad is busy or he's waiting to tell us in person. The car was a bright yellow old-fashioned school bus.
I saw a whole bunch of girls of all ages stream out of the bus. "I shall now write a poem about our perilous journey here!" A middle-aged voice yelled. Apollo. I thought. "No!" Yelled everyone, except, of course, the Apollo cabin. "Fine." He grumbled and disappeared in a flash of light. All of the Apollo cabin booed at us. I shrugged and looked around at the hunters until my eyes rested on a girl younger than the others with a slight silver glow around her. Artemis. I thought. It has to be. She looked kinda cute in a little girl kind of way. I scanned the group again. One girl caught me looking and smirked. The girl was about an inch taller than me, with the same tan and build as most as the girls there. She had dirty blonde hair and a determined face. She looked like an Athenian daughter. I smirked back and ran to the archery range, pulling out my bow. I shot a few more times before I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a punk rock girl. "What's your name and what do you need?" I said, trying to be nice. She raised an eyebrow and said, "Thalia. I need you," she poked my chest, "to get out so we can practice." She said sternly. I smirked at her and said, "Well arn't there enough for you and your band of archers to practice with me here isn't there?" She went red faced and angry. "We are the hunters of Artemis and we command you to get out." She said. "No." I said and turned around drawing another arrow. "You've got some nerve talking to me like that kid."
"Yes, yes I've heard this before. Now can you shut it so I can consentrate?" I snapped at her letting the arrow fly. Bullseye. She looked me over before walking to the spot next to me. She let fly arrow that went strait through mine. I smirked and shot an arrow strait through hers.
This went on for a while until Chiron came over and saw what we were doing. "Both of you, quit it." He said. We stopped. "Back to your cabins all of you." I had just realized how late it was. I heard grumbling from the hunters as they went back to the Artemis cabin. One in the back stopped and told the others to go on without her. She was the girl I saw earlier. She walked over to me, grabbed my wrist, and judo flipped me over her shoulder. (A/N this is not Annabeth) I landed on the ground with a painful thump. "Ow!" I yelled. She looked down at me and said, "Male, do you know who I am?"
"No." I said
Her face fell, "oh.."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I don't remember anything before the hunt. Not my mom, not my dad, only my name."
I got up, "And what would that be?"
"Aliyah"
"Well, nice to meet you, Aliyah." I said as I stuck out my hand.
She took it. "Nice to meet you to."
"If I may ask, why did you think I knew you?"
"Well, the look you gave me when you first met me... well, I thought you knew something about my past."
"Ah." I wanted to comfort her so badly, but I restrained myself. She's a hunter. I thought. She wouldn't want me to. "Well, goodnight." I said and ran off to my cabin to get some sleep.
