EMMA'S POV::
I reread Charlie's letter over and over again until Josie took it away from me. I knew she wouldn't do anything to it but it killed me not to have a piece of Charlie near me.
"Emma!" Josie called from her bedroom. I peeked my head into her room. "We're going out to dinner with some friends. Get dressed in this," she pointed to the red dress on the bed and I gasped. It was the prettiest thing anyone ever gave to me. "Be ready by six thirty."
CHARLIE'S POV::
I was sitting at a private table in a corner of the fancy restaurant I had picked out for the date, craning my neck every time someone walked into the restaurant. When she walked in, my heart started to race. Josie had her blindfolded and when they reached my table, she took it off.
"Charlie?" She was confused.
"Hi, Emma," I stood to greet her. I didn't expect what came next. Emma flung her hands around my neck and hugged me tightly. We talked about everything over dinner, some of it was small talk but by the end, we began to talk about deep things.
"Charlie, why did you write that letter?" I nervously laughed.
"Because it was what I wish I had said when you were leaving," she blushed.
"Can we get out of here so we can talk more?" she asked and I nodded. We walked across the street to Central Park. As we walked, Emma's hand was hanging there, waiting for me to grab it.
"Why did we come here?" Emma just pointed towards the sky. I finally reached for her hand but she pulled it away to fix her hair.
"The sky is beautiful, even against the city lights," she said.
"Not as beautiful as you," Emma giggled. "It's true though!" We sat on a rock and laid back.
"Charlie," Emma started.
"What?"
"Never mind."
"No seriously, what?"
"I was just wondering something."
"And what are you wondering?"
"Why did you take me out to dinner?" I thought for a moment before answering.
"I felt it was necessary." The next thing I knew, we were kissing again.
