CHARLIE'S POV::

              Emma. Her name kept scrolling through my mind and every so often, out of my mouth. I've never met anyone like her before. She's intriguing, like a book that no one's ever read. Once my shift was over, I raced back to my house. I paced nervously in front of my closet, trying to decide what to wear. I know it sounds like I was being a girl but I wanted to look nice for Emma. After a few more minutes, I decided on a blue shirt and tan shorts. I took a sip of my orange juice and picked up my guitar.

EMMA'S POV::

               WHAT TO WEAR?!?! I shouted in my head. I had just gotten done doing the list of chores Mr. Walker gave me and I was staring at my choice of clothes. I had about a bajillin rompers and jumpers, too many shirts to count and too many Vans and Converse pairs. I sat on my floor in frustration and a piece of paper sticking out from behind some old clothes caught my eye. I plucked it from my spot and read it. Run away. Plan: Set out at night, buy a plane ticket and head to NYC. The next part I couldn't make out but the signature at the bottom said Emma. I must have written this years ago! I pushed the thought of running away aside and focused on the night ahead.

               I awoke to the sound of pebbles hitting my window. I didn't know if it was Charlie or someone else so I stayed paralyzed in bed.

               "Emma!" I heard someone shout and I knew it was Charlie outside. I rushed around as quietly as I could getting ready. The night was cool and damp as Charlie and I took off running towards the park. A few blocks down, another couple was running, too. It was a popular idea.

                "I can't run anymore!" I said between pants. Charlie smiled and picked me up then started running again. When we got to the park, people were already sitting on blankets and milling about. Charlie and I found a spot in the back but close enough so we could see. As the movie started rolling, I felt Charlie's arm around me and I snuggled closer. As the movie played on, my eyelids drooped and I fell asleep.

CHARLIE'S POV::

               Emma fell asleep in my lap. I watched her sleep instead of the movie. After the movie finished, I stood in front of the coffee on the corner trying to figure out which way her house was but I had no idea so I brought her back to mine. I quietly tucked her into my bed and rolled out a sleeping bag on my floor. I sat up and watched her sleep. A few pieces of her blonde hair fell onto her face as she shifted positions in her sleep. I tucked them behind her ear and kissed her temple.

               "Charlie," whispered my mum from the doorway. I knew someone else was up. I quietly got up and went into the hallway. She asked me a lot of questions and I answered them the best I could. "Do her parents know where she is?" I bit my lip and shook my head. She told me to call them but I didn't know their number and I would've had to wake up Emma.

EMMA'S POV::

                I woke up underneath a British flag comforter in a room I didn't recognize. I sat up and looked around. There was an acoustic guitar in a corner of the room with a laptop on the chair next to the guitar. I swung my legs out from the comforter and silently padded across the room to the guitar. The laptop was opened to SoundCloud but I didn't snoop further because Charlie backed into the room carrying a tray with food.

               "Oh good, you're up!" he exclaimed as he set down the tray.

               "What happened?" I asked.

               "You fell asleep during the movie," he explained and I blushed, "I didn't know where you lived so I brought you to my house." I picked up the glass of orange juice and chugged it. "You like orange juice, too?" I nodded.

                 "I should probably get going," I told him. Charlie look crestfallen. "I'll talk to you later." I hugged him and then left for my house.
