Underneath a mask (High Priest Zane x Reader)

-Chapter 3-

The room was silent Aphmau looks at (Y/n) confused but soon enough rage took over her she sprinted towards (Y/n) with her sword pointing towards (Y/n) Garroth tried to jump in front of her but Laurance manages to stop him.

As her sword was about to collide with (Y/n)s face Zane manages to stand in front of her but too late (Y/n) taps Zanes shoulder and he teleports on the other side of the temple (Y/n) slashes her hand down towards Aphmaus sword slicing it in half she raises her leg towards Aphmaus face and kicks her towards Zane she is now flying across the room Zane removes his sword from his sheath and points the sword towards Aphmau she is about to fly straight into the sword when Aaron catches her stopping her from hitting the sword he puts her down and looks towards (Y/n) and thinks to himself.

'What kind of magicks is she using....' Just then he saw on one of her legs was a pattern of glowing black stars while on the other leg was markings of glowing purple crescent moons in a pattern on her other leg she looks up to me and shows that one of her eyes is now a (E/c)  while the other is a dark purple color.

But he was too focused on (Y/n) suddenly changing appearances Zane took matter into his own hands and grabbed Aaron by his throat and picked him up and threw him to the ground next to Aphmau.
She felt so helpless 'Someone please... help us...' she thinks to herself.

Just as this happened a glowing light appeared it was the Relic flying over to Aphmau, Zane looks over to (Y/n) signalling her to look at the relic she nods and mumbles to herself "On it..." At the speed of light she runs towards the relic that is in front of Aphmau she reaches out towards the relic with one touch it broke in half.

One half going to Aphmau and one other half going towards (Y/n) yet (Y/n) was part demon god so this was a painful process when the relic became 'One' with her she froze in the air her eyes widened she wanted to scream but she could not a flood of forgotten memories came flooding in of a little girl with black hair and light blue eyes running around in a meadow of beautiful flowers with (Y/n) standing guard watching her and smiling.

And finally she came back in to reality and let out a blood piercing scream "AAAHHHHH!!" she yelled out and collided with the floor face first.
Tears streamed down her face as she had another memory of the little girl kneeling and crying in front of a unknown presence as this mysterious person raises there sword he kills the little girl and (Y/n) starts to cry.

Zane runs to her side and picks her up and starts to cradle her she wraps her arms around his chest and sobs into him not only her body is hurting but also her mind is throbbing in pain with the sudden memories coming in but finally it stops as soon as Zane says "It is okay (Y/n)... I am here for you..."
as he hums this into her ears she slowly calms down and when she opens her eyes one was purple and one was grey but when she blinks they returned to (E/c) eyes.

She sniffs and says "T-thanks Zane... I-I want to get out of here.." as she says this a girl with blonde hair and elf ears opens up a portal Zane quickly sprints through it and lands outside of the village that used to be here except it looked broken down... And abandoned...
(Y/n) looks around but soon enough she was too tired and fell asleep cuddling up to Zane.

Zane pov

I looked around so shocked for the village that I hated was now broken down and left behind for no one to live in even the walls was broken down just then I heard soft breaths I looked down to see (Y/n) has fallen asleep in my arms I blushed as I slowly walk away to only be stopped by a sword at the back of my neck I turned around to see Aaron and everybody else behind him.

"Why Zane? why did you do all of this?" Garroth says walking towards him just then he looked down to see (Y/n) and his eyes widened and he says
"Was this all... for (Y/n)?" He asked with a curious look on his face Zane looks away and says
"No I just want to.... Start over.... I am sorry everyone for what I have done to yous give me a few months please to show I mean it I also want to live in Phoenix Drop..." I say looking down ashamed the others look at Zane and begin to talk about it.

It takes a few minutes and Aphmau nods as soon as she did Zane sprinted off into the distance still carrying (Y/n) is his arms and found a hollow oak tree and went inside he then sat down and lays (Y/n) on top of his lap and brings her close to his chest making him feel warmer he then wraps his arms around her waist and rubs his head on the crook of her neck and kisses her neck lightly and whispers "Goodnight my little knight in shining armor" He laughs to himself and smiles as he slowly falls asleep.

Narrator:

Yet what Zane did not know was that someone was outside of the tree... watching them it was Garroth he used to admire (Y/n) and always though she was too good to be a guard or even a knight for Zane he would always tell her she does not deserve to serve a man like Zane and tried to convince her to marry him so she would not serve others.

But she did not mind she doesn't know why but being a guard somehow makes her feel rather complete it is just something she loves to do no matter how many times Garroth tried he could always bring (Y/n) away from Zane yet he cannot bring her loyalty away from Zane.
Same as Zane his father could always bring him away from (Y/n) yet he could not drag away his commitment from keeping his promise with (Y/n) to always protect each other...

As the sun rises and shines into the tree (Y/n) opens her eyes and looks around to see she was all by herself
"Was it a dream?" She says sadly to herself as she looks down to the ground
"Nope" She heard a familiar voice and smiles as she looks up to see Zane holding cooked porkchops in his hands smiling and hands some over to (Y/n) and hugs her.

"Please don't leave me like that ever again" he says
"I promise... I won't Zane" She says smiling and tears of joy runs down her face yet one thing ran through her mind.

'Who was that girl?'
