LUKE'S POV

She keeps staring at me.  It is making me so uncomfortable, her eyes burning holes in my skull waiting for my answer

"ALEX OKAY!!!!  HER NAME IS ALEX!" I scream unable to take the pressure.

"Woah Woah Luke calm down.  I won't hurt you.  It is fine.  Jeez I didn't think you would snap like that."  Kayla said, obviously scared and confused at why I snapped.  Honestly, I don't know why I snapped like that.  This was KAYLA after all.  She was my best friend and I knew that I could count on her.  

"I'm so sorry Kayla.  I think I snapped because of the pressure.  I've always been comfortable around you, you know."  I pause not knowing how to say more.

Kayla stares thoughtfully at me.  "It's okay Luke, I-I think I understand what the pressure feels like. My offer about talking to Cal is still up for grabs, just so you know." She says with a little smirk.  I have to admit, it was pretty cute. Wait I have a girlfriend, I shouldn't be thinking these things.  But then again it was pretty cute. 

"GET IT TOGETHER LUKE!" I scream.

"What are you talking about Luke?" Kayla questions me while staring at me with confusion evident on her face.  

"Wait.  Did I say that out loud?" I ask, not believing it myself.

"Yup." Kayla says, popping the p, "What was that about?"

"Nothing. That was nothing," I say quickly," I think that I'll take you up on your offer."

"What offer?"  She says with a confused look on her face that made her look like a puppy. She looked adorable.  What is it with all these thoughts? This is KAYLA the girl I've known my whole life, my best friend. " Oh yah that offer. I'll talk to Cal next week.  But first I have to meet the mystery girl, Alex."

"What! No, I can't let you!"

"How am I supposed to defend her, if I've never meet her?"

Arghhhhhh... She has a point there.  "Fine you can meet her, just PLEASE be nice.  Ok?"

"Wow Lucus," she says teasingly, "you say that like I am not a nice person."
