Since it is the last day to work on the drawings, the students are all rushing to finish and clean up their work. This year's students are the best artists I have seen here. This week has been tough on us all. Putting the drawing on Mike's desk for him to grade, I say, "Mike, I am going outside and I will be back in a minute for next period." "Alright don't take to long," he says looking up from grading. Stepping outside I breath in the fresh air as I walk out to my car. Sitting on the hood I call Christopher. "Hey, have you heard anything about the accident?" I ask as soon as he answered. "Just that it wasn't an accident. The doctor said that he will be fine in a few days. Nick is suppose to be checking on on everyone who has been there this week," Christopher said. "I am glad he is going to be alright. I hope they find out who did it quickly. Because it could happen again," I say as I slowly walk towards the buildings. "You and me both. Nick talked about going to your house and talking with you," he said. I stopped walking when he said that and said, "I guess he wants to make sure he doesn't miss anything since I was there Tuesday. Well, I need to get going. Class has already started." "Yeah, I will talk to you later. Bye bro," he said and hung up.

Putting the phone in my pocket, I run to the classroom. As I step inside I walk over to Mike. "Sorry that it took so long, I was talking to my bother." "No problem. You need to go over and see Maya. Her drawing is one of the best," Mike said before going over to talk with a student.

"Why not it's amazing?! " I heard Alex say to Maya after I got close to them. "I can't Alex. I'm not good, and they won't like it," she argued. "Hey, what are you two arguing about? " I asked standing behind them. Turning around Alex said, "She says she is not going to enter her drawing into the contest. Mr. VanAllen, tell her to do it. It's the best drawing here." "Let me look at it," I say pulling a chair over by their table. After I sit down Maya lays the drawing in front of me.

Looking at the drawing it's hard to believe a professional didn't draw it. The Castle looks so real you can even see the details of the torches by the doorway and the garden in back and the stone pathways that lead to the gardens, the four towers and all the window in it's huge majestic light gray structure. It looks like a black and white photo almost. It's just like Nerva. After taking a long look I turn to Maya. "Ma'am, may I shake the hand of the woman who drew this? For I think it's the most realistic, beautiful, and captivating drawing I have seen in years," I say holding my hand out for hers. Hesitant her cheeks turn pink before she shakes my hand. I tighten my grip on her hand when she is about to draw it back. I slowly bring it up to me with her palm up. Tracing the lines I look her in the eyes while I say, "You should put it in the contest because without any doubt you will win. You are far too modest about your work. It looks professional, my dear." Once I said that her blush deepens even more. "I guess I will, sir, " she whispered looking away. "I am happy you are," I say placing her hand on her lap before standing up. "I will take it over right now, so it will be entered," I tell her as I pick it up and take it over to Mike's desk.

When Mr. VanAllen was talking to me I felt like my heart was about to beat out of my chest. Every time I am around him I find it hard to look away. I have seen a lot of hot guys before but not one of them are like Mr. VanAllen. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't even realize Alex has been trying to get my attention. "Maya, are you here?" he asked when I turned to him. Pushing a strand of hair behind my ear I say, "Yeah, sorry, I was just think about something. What is it ?" He takes a long look at me before he smiles and says, "When we get our drawings back next week I was wondering if you would like to have mine." "Yes, I would. You did a good job on it," looking around on our table not finding it, I ask, " where is it?" "I have already turned it in," he says as he stands up and motions for me to get up for lunch.
