CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Gatar, please, do it for the sake of everybody...
There are too many of them. That Namekian is sharp, if we change places right in front of him, then it will be far too evident.
But...they need you.
No. They need you.
No, Gatar! Trunks believes that I possess this great power when it's all you! It's you that can easily finish off the Artificial Humans!
You can fight as well me, Aster-san.
Stop being so nice to me. I don't deserve your kindness. I'm a coward. I use you.
I hear no response.
I've decided.
With or without Gatar, I will take on No.17. I will suffer from the scars and contusions because I merit this penance. After all...Gatar has been through a lot of pain for me and I am forever in his debt.
I leap toward No.17 and put all my strength into my attacks although he's dodging all of them easily. At one point my knuckles graze his cheek and he frowns at the tiny scratch on his skin. His eyebrows press in together and he grabs my arm, crushing it in his iron grip. I writhe; every second his grasp tightens excruciatingly and my arm will be broken in no time. I have to act fast before I end up like Vegeta.
I bring up my left arm and blast a flare of Ki in his face to make him let me go but he doesn't. He still stands there, the smoke covering his face, and his grip only strengthened. I gasp shakily at how monstrous the Artificial Humans of today truly were and to my astonishment, his fingers slip off my arm one by one and I stumble back, shocked. He smirks and beckons me once more, a taunting look prancing in his eyes. His pupils are practically glowing with composed madness.
"Ji..." I whisper. "Go...Ku..."
"Hmm? What's that? I can't—" He was starting to say lazily as I yell, hitting him with the blast full-on.
"FUREA!"
This time, his feet is driven back into the dirt and rocks but he still stands. I grit my teeth when all I see are torn and ashy clothes and a sneering face.
"Not bad," He remarks. "But I can do better."
He appears in front of me and his fist connects with my nose. I hear a loud and disgusting crack of the bones and blood flies out of my nostrils. He doesn't stop. His elbow comes down to my stomach and another pained, breathless gasp escapes my lips. He punches me repeatedly, flinging me through rocks, firing Ki blasts at me. I don't have time for any of my techniques. He was too fast.
I crash to the ground, panting heavily, and he puts a foot on my throat. At first, he presses it down gently but then he puts so much power into it that my eyes bulge and my mouth opens. My eyes roll into the back of my head and I let out a last huff of breath before losing myself.
