Chapter 9
Jaycie's pov
"Jaycie?" I hear someone say as they shake my shoulder. "Jaycie! Hello?!? Back to earth please!" I turn around and see Kathryn waving her hands in front of my face. I look around and see that I'm in the cafeteria. I don't even remember coming down here.
"Sorry. What did you say?" I ask Kathryn.
"I asked you what happened yesterday with Harry. Did you kiss him?" She smirked.
"No, I would never kiss him."
"Why not? He's cute," She laughed.
"Why don't you kiss him then," I retorted.
"Because, you like him. Don't you?"
"No I don't!"
"Yes you do."
I turned around and got back to my lunch ignoring Kathryn.
"That's what I thought," she laughed getting up to throw her trash away. I'm so glad that everybody else with us were too busy in their conversation to listen to us. I decided to get into the conversation too.
"Yeah, he's such a freak but he's so hot," said Miranda.
"Do you think he would ever date anyone. Or is he just too much of an unemotional person to even care," Amanda questioned.
"Who are you guys talking about?" I asked, although I assumed it was Harry.
"Well who do you think!" Daniel shouted," that weird Harry kid of course."
I looked at him,"Well what do you think about him?"
"I think he's just a freak. He can't get a girl acting like that. If I acted like that with Hannah," he said putting his arm around her," she would never have gone out with me. Would you?" He said looking to her.
"Probably not," she said," but you didn't so..." She gave him a peck on the lips and Amanda shouted," hey! This is a public place!" We all laughed at her comment and got back to the conversation.
"I feel bad for you Jaycie," Miranda said," you have to see him all the time for that project. Tell us, what's he like outside of school?"
"The same. He just puts his hoodie down when he's out of sight and that's the only difference."
"Hey there's the freak now," Pete said pointing to the door. We went silent as we watched Harry walk outside to sit by himself.
"He doesn't even try to make friends," Andy said.
"I don't think he cares enough to make friends," Sydney said.
"Let's just stop talking about him. Why does it even matter to us." I said.
Everybody nodded there head and got back to normal topics. I got up to go throw away my trash and say back down next to Kathryn. I don't want to talk though. I've been thinking of Harry all day and after that conversation, I won't be able to stop. Jake came by to sit next to me, but usually after we finish eating he doesn't do much talking. More like touching and whispering things about the weekend in my ear. I completely ignored all of his comments, but one stuck out. It kept playing in my mind torturing me. "I'll see you tonight. Your place." My heart started to beat rapidly at that comment. I don't know if in ready for this. Why did I tell him my parents were going to be out of town this weekend. At least with that I might have been able to say my parents might walk in or something. What have I gotten myself into.
Kathryn's pov:
I don't know what's wrong with Jaycie. Ever since Harry came she's been acting weird. Almost lost and confused. She totally zoned out today in lunch and seemed uncomfortable with the whole conversation about Harry. I didn't say anything because I could tell she didn't want to talk about it too much. For some reason I feel like at the same time that its all she would like to talk about. It seems like the only thing she thinks about. Maybe I'm messing her up with my joke for her to kiss him. I hope that she knows that I'm kidding when I tell her to kiss him. He's a freak. He'll just hurt her if he can even give her a chance. Plus she has a boyfriend, Jake. I know she doesn't love him. I can see it. Jake only wants to get into her pants. She just wants someone to love. I think she really wants it to be Jake but it just isn't. I'm really worried. I heard Jake say something about this weekend and she looked really scared. We all know what Jakes thinking and if she says yes now and no later, he'll get pissed. Maybe I can ask Harry to keep an eye on her. He might have some sort of care for her. She is the only person who is nice to him and talks to him. He has to care somewhat to help me.
AURHER: UH OH. WHAT'S SHE GOING TO DO? DO YOU THINK HARRY WILL HELP HER? XX
