"Java, your baby is a boy. Please select a name.", a level-four leader of Gaverex presented the new born statistic to his producer. Java gazes at her new baby and is lost in a trance for a moment as she falls in love with him.
"Ma'am. He needs branding immediately.", the leader demanded. Hastily, Java scrolled through her thoughts to find an unused name.
"Starfall. Wait, no. That's too heavy. How about Starfell? It flow quite nice, and I think--",
"He has been added to the systems." He interrupted and was soon out of the room. Java looked down at her baby, who lay nestled in a basinette, cooing softly. Java held out her hand to Starfell and with his tiny fingers, gripped onto her hand. "Starfell. I love you.", she sobbed with tears of pure joy.
Shortly after, Java brought her new-born statistic to her home. She spent hours watching this beautiful baby boy peacefully sleeping in the basinette. She knew right when he arrived, that he is perfect. She could not take her eyes of him, and she never wanted to lose him.
Since that day, Starfell has grown into a level fourteen statistic. This means he has been alive for fourteen years, without fail. Sometimes a statistic's level does not determine their age, though. Every year, a leader will assess the individual's skills, growth, development, intelligence and social strength. If one does not meet the strict guidelines to pass the level, they remain constant for another year.
Starfell is highly respected because of his respectful attitude, persistence in work and education, genuinity, unique looks, intelligence and his success in his life. His mother and father were very proud of him and never thought once that they no longer wanted him.
That's what happened with their first production, Berlyn, who was female. She only passed eight levels before her status became a failed constant. She was weak and useless. She became awry with her behaviors. Her eyes were defective; she was not blind, but occasionally she would see things that were not there. This developed into violent behaviors, and paranoia that did not go away. She frightened people with her eccentric behavior, so Java and her partner requested deletion. She was deleted less than a day after, and they had no regrets.
But Starfell was the exact opposite. Everybody adored him. Individuals would look in his eyes and see a brave and determined soul, who would never give up. This made him powerful, socially. Nobody wanted to get on his bad side, for fear of his power.
Starfell loved his statusism, too. He excelled at everything, and he was right proud about that.
