Tyler's POV
She looked so pretty right there. The porch was lit up perfectly. Mallory tried comforting me, but I didn't want to talk. She may be sweet and everything, but she needs to work on this comforting thing. My thoughts kept drifting to whether Kaitlyn and Toby were dating. Sure seemed like it. I don't know why that bothered me so much.
"We can go home if you want." Mallory tried to comfort me. I didn't want to go home. I wanted to stay here until Kaitlyn was besides me. I knew for sure I liked her. It sure as heck wasn't gravity that made me fall for her. But she does seem to get awfully cozy with Toby. Maybe they are secretly dating.
I don't say anything back to Mallory. Soon the front door open and I hear Kaitlyn whisper if I was okay. Mallory got up and walked through the door. Kaitlyn came and say right besides me. I put my head in my hands ready for a lecture. She rubbed my back and stayed completely silent. She rested her head on my shoulder as she looked into the street. Cars passed, neither she or I moved. Finally I looked at her. She looked me dead in the eyes too. I leaned in and she didn't even move.
What am I doing?! I have a girlfriend! She is inside and will probably come out at any moment!
I don't care.
I was one little inch from her lips as the front door swung open. Kaitlyn shot up and ran inside. I put my head back in my hands. Mallory grabbed my arm and pulled me up and inside. The boys were dragging Kaitlyn outside. I gave a little smirk knowing she let me almost kiss her. I was loving it here. I rubbed my neck as we went outside to watch Kaitlyn be thrown into the pool. She laughed but then went serious as she said something to them. She dragged Toby into the pool with her. He just went right ahead. The other guys took off their shirts and jumped in. Kaitlyn was hanging on Toby with her arms around his neck. I looked down.
"They will dry..." Mallory said. I think she thought I was thinking about my pants. With a shrug I took of my shirt showing my abs. We had fun and after a while dried off inside. We were beat. A movie was put on and I drifted to sleep with Mallory besides me.
It was hard at first because I kept thinking about Kaitlyn and us almost kissing. I wanted to. So badly. I wanted to feel her lips on mine. More than anything...I wanted to call her mine...
Toby's POV
"No offense or anything...but we are too good of friends. I can't date you." Damn. Those words stung. I know. Me and Kaitlyn have been friends forever. So many things have changed since then though. Kaitlyn got prettier, girls got sluttier, guys got more mature. Kaitlyn has stayed the same. Besides her being older and prettier and all.
I wouldn't mind dating Kaitlyn. But I can see she doesn't want to date me. But she was acting like it. And I liked it. Worst of all, I could picture us together.
"Sorry to interrupt...I'm just getting a drink..." Tyler comes in saying as Kaitlyn is wrapped in my arms. He is jealous. I can tell.
"Oh no! Tyler we aren't dating..." Damn. Those words again. I need to tell her soon. Or show her. Somehow. Someday. Really soon.
Sorry it's short. I've been busy this summer! I will try updating soon! Keep reading!
