As the weeks went past, rumours went around about "the new girl", some said i was a "perfect b*tch" and others were a bit nicer although still saying i was a freak.
"Don't worry hon, they don't know you" sooths Caroline reassuringly, and i nod, we are in the girls bathroom and so at least no one else is in here.
"But i am a freak in a way!" i sob truthfully
"No your not, you're you and you should be proud of that, you're the cleverest in the year, best musician and prettiest, do you know how many boys want to date you?" she reassures me
"Come after school to my house, i need to show you something
"Ok bu.." she started but cut her off
"It'll explain everything!" i wipe my eyes, what am i about to do? Give up our biggest secret? She'll keep it a secret and anyway she needs to know. The two arguments battle in my head, tell her the truth or lie.
Maths next, i should skip it but i can't so i enter the classroom to see all the girls eyes (heavily coated with mascara) glare at me, Caroline isn't in my maths set so i had to sit next to Britney Luego, the high school queen or the most popular girl in the school.
"Hey, my girlfriends are having a party tonight, d'ya wanna come, it'll be a bash" she whispered to me
"Sorry i can't, anyway i have nothing to wear" i reply
"I wont take no for an answer, we need to bond now we sit together, meet me and the girls at the car park at 3:45, we're going shopping" she demanded
"Girl, be quiet" came the voice of a teacher, i scrawled a quick note "OK i'll come" as she read it she tossed her golden curls over her shoulder and then she took out a mirror to reapply her mascara. Wow, did i just get invited to my first high school party?
