elle knocks on the door to the salvatore boarding house the next morning. the two brothers had invited her to come over and presumably explain herself. usually the original would turn down sharing and telling my darkest secrets but reconsidered, deciding she would need allies when klaus inevitably comes to town.

after waiting without an answer the blonde strides on in to their home, only to be met with the sound of them discussing her favourite topic; her.

"elyse, or whatever her real name is on the way over." stefan says to elena and what looked like rose.

"you really think she's gonna help us?" damon scoffs. "i killed elijah, and according to you two, they seemed like buddies." he says, pointing to elena and rose. damon salvatore thinks he killed elijah? they really don't know anything about them.

"well she's on the outs with a certain original now so maybe she wouldn't mind shedding some light on a few subjects." rose says.

"depends on what you're offering." elle's sudden entrance causes all heads to immediately snap towards her smirk-clad face. "hey rose, nice to see you got away from elijah alive." she waves at rose with a sarcastic smile. 

 when rose just scowls in response, elle continues. "i'm not usually one to share so rose, take the floor." the original strolls over and sits on the arm of the sofa crossing her arms. damon makes his way over and sits next to her, only nodding at her when she gives him a confused look.

"okay, you have to  understand i only know what i've picked up over the years and i don't  know what's true and what's not true. it's the problem with all this  vampire crap but klaus, i know he's real."

"who is he?"

"he's one of the originals, he's a legend" elle rolls her eyes at that.

"from the first generation of vampires"

"like elijah and you, elle?" elena asks elle, all heads turning to look at her.

"yes." elle answers, plainly. "though elijah is the easter bunny compared to klaus."

"klaus is known to be the oldest." stefan says.

"actually stefan, sorry to stop you there. but elijah is ni- is klaus' older brother." elle corrects him. "but he's still pretty old."

"okay so you're saying that one of the oldest vampires in history is coming after me?"

"yes." rose says.

"No" Stefan says at the same time.

"optimism won't stop the inevitable, stefan." elle raises her eyebrows at him. "elena deserves the truth atleast." 

"thank you." elena nods, sending a small smile elle's way that she doesn't return. 

"what they're saying is, i mean if what she's saying is true..." damon trails off.

"which it is." rose and elle say at the same time.

"and you're not saying it so i don't kill you."
