Burn to Dust

The cloud over my eyes clears

Fog, mist and blur disappear

I revel in my new-found power

For the first time, I hold the strings

For long I have felt it burn

The fire within my flaming heart

Biding it's time, multiplying by the second

Waiting to destroy, preying to devour

Now, I am wide awake

As my eyes bore into his,

His hand like ice on my face

That touch breaking into my veins

He does not remember me.

I was just a pawn on his death board

A weapon, killing masses, under his command

Well now, the power lies within me

And I can feel it pulsing to be used.

That feeling of unease

Mingled with anger

Tainted by the hurt he caused

Born from the desire for payback

Propels me to call on the new fire in my blood

Yet the fire has been ignited

As I mercilessly burn his body

His agony screams warm my cold heart of stone

I laugh as red burnt skin crumbles to ash

Thank you for this power to destroy. I smile.
