Broken glass.
Like shards of broken glass
Scattered on the floor of a tunnel
Sparkling in the sunlight
Reflecting diverse colours
Beautiful, Breathtaking, yet still Broken.
Gloom-ridden on the inside
Colonised by the pain, the torture
She stands, a diamond in the rough,
The answer to tomorrow's curious
Painting the wall black with her tears
Her whole being ruptured into bits, like broken glass.
As the darkness rears towards her,
The severed girl opens her eyes
It threatens to ensnare, to control, to torment,
She is gripped with a desire to live
To save, to bring hope to the world that broke her,
That reduced her to nothing but broken glass.
With all that she is, the warrior princess will fight back
Sacrifice, with hope to regain her humanity
Yet, every day, unconsciously we step on her toes.
Crush her spirit, send her towards the darkness
We belittle her, fracture her, and she feels:
Just like broken glass.
