At age 4 it begins.
"Buy this cool new toy!"
"You will be loved by everyone!"
At age 6 it continues.
"These shoes are so awesome"
"Buy them and you will be important."
At age 10 it gets scary.
The thin girls are always pretty and loved.
Even the protagonists are thin and happy and strong and valuable.
By age 12 we are brainwashed.
Skinny
Pretty
Quiet
Dainty
Sweet
When we reach age 14,
We are dead.
Standards photo shopped
And marketed thing is how to be.
What is right is not what is on our television screens.
My little sister said when she was seven "I wish I was skinnier" and if that isn't sickening than you seriously need a heart.
Our beauty is not defined by our sizes.
Our beauty is defined by our creativity .
By our passion.
By our kindness.
By the amount of love contained within our hearts.
So I guess this means,
In one way or another,
We
Are
All
Beautiful.
