Chapter 2 : "She's Gone" Part 2

*Flashback 4 years ago*

* Knock, Knock* "Cominggg!!" I yelled as I ran down stairs and opened, to reveal a Josh with flowers in his hand,

" Hello beautiful" Josh said smiling widely.

Wow this is weird, I wasn't expecting anyone. But who cares its Josh! He is like a brother to me and I love him to bits. " Hi, Josh!" I say smiling happily, "I wasn't expecting you to come over...but who cares come in!" I said grabbing his arm and dragging him inside.

He starts chuckling "Eager aren't we?"

"Ha-ha, very funny" I say sarcastically. My eyes wonder down to the flowers in his hand. "Hmm, I wonder for who those flowers are for...they are so beautiful, my favourite actually...how cute I didn't know Josh had a crush on someone.. How come he didn't say anything? We are best friends which is weird that he didn't tell Molly and me..." I couldn't stop my curiosity take over, "Who are those flowers for?" I asked Josh, I gasped " Do you have a crush on someone?!, And you haven't told Molly and I?" I dramatically asked him.

He smiled and blushed a little, awe now I'm positive he likes someone. "They are for you," he said while extending his arm towards me with the small bouquet of flowers.

I was completely taken aback, uhhh we'll I don't get flowers from Josh everyday...haha I'm sure he is just... I don't know nice? polite? cheeky?, I have no clue.. we've been friends since 4 years old and the only time he gave me a flower was when I fell of a tricycle when I was getting down I slipped and fell on a cement stair in pre-school, I have a scar from that in my forehead but its almost gone its just and inch long plus my side bang covers it up. Wow I must sound like Harry Potter right now, haha.

"Thank you Joshie," I said smiling up at him, " just out of curiosity.. why are you giving me these flowers? You have never given me flowers before only-"

"Only when you where four and I was 6, when you split your head open I know" Josh said cutting me off, "Since you wanna get straight into the point of me giving you these flowers...."

Ugh I hate it when I get cut off when I'm talking, it irritates me and its so rude to do that to a perso-, wait why is he kneeling down... what's going on?

"Melanie," Josh says staring up at me with a huge smile planted on his face, '' I've known you for 10 years now.. and I know you like the back of my hand, we've been friends for a loonnggg time now and I-I have had feelings for you for 5 years now. Mel I love you, and I always wanted to ask you this question...." Holy crap, what is he saying? No, he can't have feelings for me. He can't. I-I don't love him like that this is wrong this is all wrong. And if I say no... gosh, Josh will be crushed and pissed. I know Josh like the back of my hand, he gets really violent when he is mad, he starts yelling and kicking things and doesn't realize what he is doing cause he is stubborn and won't listen to anybody, it takes him a while to calm down, I the only person besides his mum who can calm him down...

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Josh asks happily. SHIT.

I can't say yes, I don't have feelings for him, if I do say yes I will hurt him, and if I say no I'm in deep shit. I have to risk my chances...

"Look Josh, you have taken me by surprise and I love you too... but as a brother. I am so sorry but no, .....I don't have feelings for you I'm really sorry.." I say. God this is awkward, but then again I AM and awkward person.

Josh looks at me his joyful/ hopeful smile transform into a frown. His face gets a light shade of red and his green/brown eyes turn pitch black. Ugh here comes pissed off Josh...

''No?'' he asks me slowly.

I look at him in the eyes, I can't look scared because if he sees me scared he'll yell at me more... I think... I have to be brave. " You heard me, I said no, I'm sorry..".

"NO, you are not sorry!" He yelled at me. I'm sure my neighbors can hear him. Who does he think he is? He has no right to yell at me. By now I am furious too.

"Yes, I am. And you have no right to be yelling at me!" I tell louder that him, and slap him across the face. When my hand is of his face I see a pink- now red mark in his right cheek. Uh oh, I shouldn't have done that. I regret slapping him now... He looks back to me, really, really mad words can't describe how mad he looks.

Before I breathe in again he pushes me against the wall, hard enough I hit my head really hard against it that when I bring my hand up to touch my head it stings, when I bring it down to see it its covered in blood.

"I hate you! You broke my heart!" he said punching me in the stomach.

I could breathe in I struggled for a couple of seconds, "Stop it Josh! Stop. You have too learn that not every single girl is gonna say yes." I said to him calmly," Please stop. You're hurting me." I pleaded and whispered loud enough so he can hear.

"No. That doesn't hurt as much as you hurt me! But don't worry, I will be back in the future and I will break you". With that I fell down and looked up at him with pleading and scared eyes. I was in tears, they kept running down my face as I sobbed.

"You're pathetic." He hissed and kicked me in the head, then I saw black spots everywhere. I saw Josh look back as he was stepping outside my house and slammed the door close.Seconds later everything went black.

*45 Minutes Later*

"Melanie?! Melanie Please?! Wake Up?!" I heard a voice say. As I opened my eyes sharp pain spread from my feet to my head. I opened my eyes and saw Molly with red eyes, next to her was my mum. I heard another voice close to me so I turned my head slightly even though it hurt a LOT. And saw my father talking in the phone. And I realized that I was not home, this was a different room. It was plain and white, I was in a hospital room. Man, that meant Josh hurt me badly.

"Mum? My head hurts.."

" I know love, you split the back of you head and had to get stiches, and have a bruised rib. But, you'll be fine." she said carefully, with a warm smile.

"Melanie? What happened?'' Molly asked, by this my dad was listening, he gave my a warm smile.

'' Josh... H-he came over, I did not know he was gonna come over, but I let him in.." I breathed in, it hurt, but I had to tell them. He had to pay. " He brought me flowers and asked me to be his girlfriend and I said no he got pissed of and we started arguing. I slapped him, he threw me against the wall, yelled at me I told we argued again he punched me.." by now I started crying but I had to finish telling them, "then I pleaded him to stop and I fell down begging him and he hit kicked me in the head."

" Don't worry honey, he will pay. I am gonna go to the police station right now and have him arrested."

*Flashback Over*

"Your gonna hurt me again aren't you? Like when I was fourteen and you where sixteen? but guess what I am not afraid of you." I said coldly.

He chuckled. "I am gonna break you." he grabbed a rag and pressed it to my face. I struggled but then I became drowsy and everything became black.
