"He what?!" Megan grabs my shoulders and shakes me back and forth. "I so called that. I said to Brandon the other day that you two were going at it!" She grins.
"Hey, hey! We are not going at it! Nor were we ever going at it. We just kissed, is all." My face turns more red by the second as more and more people turn to stare at our measly table of two in the middle of the canteen area.
"I don't care! I still called it. So how was it?" She takes a sip of her drink, attempting to calm herself down. I stare at her, trying to figure out if she's being serious.
"Um, It was... good, I guess." I fiddle with the hem of my jacket, not used to talking about this kind of thing.
"Good, you guess? Don't tell me good is all that Leo's got in him. I bet it was better than good." She nudges me and I go a little red as I remember Andy and I's kiss from last night. "He was better than good!" She gasps. "Speaking of your new boy toy." She nods behind me and I turn around to see Dave, Andy, Brandon and Brent walking toward our table.
"He is not my boy toy." I aggressively whisper back before any of the others were within hearing range of us.
"Good morning, comatose!" Dave smiles at me and plonks himself down in the chair beside me.
"You're not going to let that go, are you?" I groan as Brandon kisses Megan before sitting down next to her. Andy sits between Brandon and David, and Brent sits down between Megan and I.
"Not for a second." He grins and steals a potato chip from Megan's plate. She shouts at him in protest before sinking back into her chair with her arms folded.
"You look adorable when you're grumpy." Brandon mumbles into Megan's shoulder.
"And that is where the PDA stops, Mr Hoover." I give him a warning glare, to which he just laughs and kisses Megan's cheek. "Right, I'm out. I'll see you guys when you can act like you're not in the start of a porno." I steal a chip and get up, going toward the training area on the other side of the room.
"Where you going?" I turn to see Andy running after me. He smiles when I stop to allow him to catch up, and takes my hand.
"I'm going to fix my fighting ability." He raises an eyebrow at me.
"By yourself?" I go quiet, realising what a stupid idea it was to attempt to fix my fighting ability by myself. "How about I teach you?"
"I don't see why not, I guess. Just go easy on me." I sigh.
"Hey, I'm teaching you how to fight, not beating you up. Smile, Sam! You look prettier that way." I smile up at him, a blush rising in my cheeks. "Right. You'll be better sticking with your Rod..." He trails off, looking for it in the stash of various weapons. "It'll keep your enemies at a safe enough distance, which will be good if you're not very good at close combat. Here." He hands it to me. "Now make sure to have a firm foundation. Anything you do won't do much damage unless you have power in your legs." He rambles on some more and gets me to do a few swings at him. "Okay right, now try and stop me from hitting you."
I'm about to ask him what he means when he lunges at me. I duck to the side, narrowly avoiding a punch that I presume is aimed at my head. He doesn't give me time to recover before lunging again, this time aiming for my legs. I skip back a little late, and he almost takes my feet from under me.
"Use your rod as a tool. It's not a pretty ornament!" I regain my composure and grip the rod like he told me - one hand at the bottom, the other halfway up. He throws a punch at my stomach and I swing my rod down to block it. He grins and swings with his other hand at my face. I block that too.
"You're getting the hang of it now! Maybe you'll be able to stay conscious next time!" He grins and I try not to take offence at the joke. He stands with his arms by his side, and I take the opportunity to dip down and quickly swipe at his legs with my rod. My plan works and he falls to the floor, landing with a thud. He groans and rolls onto his side before grabbing my rod and pulling me down with him.
I land on top of him, almost head-butting him in the face. "See? If I go down you're coming too." He grins and I sit up so that I'm half straddling him.
"Last time I checked I was on top in this situation." I smile sarcastically. He starts to giggle under me.
"Never took you for a dom, I'll tell you that." He grins and I slap him around the head.
"This is not a time for sex jokes, Andy!" He moves his leg under me, knocking me off balance and flips us over so that our roles are reversed. He leans down, smiling.
"You sure about that?" I grab the back of his head and pull him down toward me in an answer. Our lips press together and I smile into the kiss. "I'll take that as a no?" He laughs and leans back down, kissing me again.
