That day, Hijikata and Gintoki spent the day messing around with each other, which would be seen as fighting in a stranger's eye, but not in theirs. It was their way of showing affection to each other.
There would be occasional hints of love in their words but if anyone questioned them about it, they'd just outright deny it. However, Kagura and Shinpachi has sensed that something was wrong with their leader but kept silent due to the overflowing happiness emitted from Gintoki.
The following week was the same, Gintoki would emit this super-happy aura that only he and Hijiakta was oblivious of. Then, on a rainy day, a phone call came in, and Gintoki went to go answer it, notifying Kagura and Shinpachi that he had to step out for a client.
But, as soon as Gintoki stepped out to meet a customer, they took this as an opportunity to discuss it.
"...Oi, shitty glasses."
"Who are you calling shitty glasses?!"
"Do you think that something's going on with Gin-chan? It's like as if he's...umm..."
"In love?" Shinpachi finished her sentence with a serious look on his face.
"Yeah! That's it...I wonder who it is though...What if she dumps Gin-chan or something?! This is bad!"
"Point taken, afterall, the Gin-san that we know has no luck with women."
- Somewhere in Kabuki-Cho -
"Achoo!" Gintoki abruptly sneezed as he walked to the hotel of where his client was waiting for him. "Damn...I bet that someone's talking about me..."
He shrugged it off and kept walking, unaware of the shadows that slowly crept up to him...
- Back to the Yorozuya Place -
Kagura and Shinpachi has tried to work out who the woman of Gintoki's dreams were but had absolutely no clue. Sighing in defeat, they gave up on the investigation and instead decided to just question Gintoki when he came back.
- A few hours later -
The air was thick in the Yorozuya and the tension was getting higher with every second.
"...Hey, Kagura-chan..." Shinpachi stopped cleaning and turned to look at the small, pale girl nervously fidgeting around.
"Gin-chan...where is he? He's late..." The words that came out of her mouth was like a sharp sting to Shinpachi. He put his broom down and sat next to the Yato girl on the couch, trying to offer some comfort to her.
"Arf!" A loud bark was heard and a huge white dog bounded into the room.
"Sadaharu! Didn't I tell you to not run in the house? What if Gin-san lectures you...again..." Shinpachi looked down at his hands. "Speaking of that idiot...where in the world is he doing now. I bet he's passed out drunk somewhere...haha..."
"Arf!" Sadaharu licked Shinoachi's face as if to say, 'cheer up!'
"Aah! Sadaharu! That...tickles! Hahaha!" Shinpachi gently latter Sadaharu on the head and whispered. "Yeah, that jerk probably just got drunk somewhere and decided to crash at somebody's house...Kagura-chan!"
"W-What?!" At the mention of her name, Kagura snapped back into reality and faced Shinpachi.
"Tomorrow, when Gin-san comes back, we'll be sure to teach him a lesson, yeah?" Shinpachi grinned at Kagura, and it seemed to be contagious because Kagura gave a wide grin of her own back.
"Yeah! Tomorrow, when we see that lazy bum, we'll be sure to give him a good kick in the balls!" And to that, both of them burst into laughter, accompanied by the happy barks of Sadaharu.
- Author's notes -
Sorry for not being too active, had some things going on...but as you can see, I finally managed to update! ( yay! ) I personally really like this story (not weird, right?), but converting thoughts into words takes a looooong time...I mean, it took me about an hour or so to write this...Though I did get sidetracked a few times...ahaha. 😅
Anyways, it's getting really long so please vote for it if you like it, it'll mean a lot to me + it'll give me motivation to actually finish this story - might be short, might be long - but yeah, until next time! 😁
