Annabeth's P.o.V

I've never actually liked Percy. I only felt pity for him because he really liked me, so I became his girlfriend. I know I shouldn't have done that, because in the end it still would have ended up in a break-up. He may have been an amazing boyfriend, but I didn't feel the sparks I should have felt.

Besides, I was a daughter of Athena and he was a son of Poseidon, it would never work out. Oh wait, John is a son of Poseidon too. Oh well.

I picked up a black fishnet leggings and a black camisole. I put on a leather jacket on after that and curled my hair into soft shiny curls. John loved them that way.

I put on some mascara and put on some golden eye shadow. That made my boring grey eyes not-so-boring. Now came the hard part. Hot pink lipstick or classic red lipstick? John loved both. In the end, I went with the hot pink lipstick. It made me look younger.

I went to the hut near the beach. John did up a heart-shaped walkway for me. It was perfect. Unlike anything Percy could have done.

John and I were supposed to meet here at midnight, so we wouldn't get caught by other campers. They blamed us for Percy's leaving. But, let's be honest, if they weren't so soft-hearted, they wouldn't have left him too.

The campers, especially Travis and Connor, loved to prank us. They would fill my cabin with spiders, all sorts of spiders. You name it, they have done it.

Where was John? It had already been ten minutes, and he was seldom late.

Just then, two shadows appeared from behind the hut. "Annabeth?" It was John.

He came into view. There was a girl right next to him. She was probably Aphrodite's daughter. With her naturally tan skin and her gorgeous ombre hair, she made me look so...un-classy. Her eyes were multi-coloured, and she had on a mini skirt, showing off her long, tanned legs.

"Hey, Annabeth. This is Ashley." He said. She greeted me politely. "She is a daughter of Aphrodite, and she is my girlfriend."

"One of your weekly flings?" He always had these weekly flings here and there.

"Not this time, sorry. I know that I've had flings in the past, but this time it's different. I feel a real connection with her. Sorry I didn't tell you earlier, you were just so caught up with me. Besides, you're older than me, go find somebody your age." I could tell that apology wasn't genuine. He was so arrogant and so fake!
Tears sprung up in my eyes. How dare he? How dare he cheat on me? How could he, when I broke up with Percy Jackson for him?

"Fine. Whatever."

I ran back to my cabin and went to the toilet. I threw away all my make-up. I did all these for him. All the making up, all the pretty-ing up. And he didn't appreciate it. Oh well, daughters of Athena's are independent. We don't need boys. I went into the shower and washed of all my make-up.

I lay in bed, realizing that I had been a mindless fool, going after John, doing what he did, only to be cheated on. I shed a few tears. I shall no longer be this way.

Tomorrow, the old, independent Annabeth shall make her appearance again.

The next day

I woke up, realizing that it was Percy's birthday and that the Stolls were bound to play a prank on us, the Athenian cabin. Oh shit. Then I realized that the floor was crawling with millipedes, centipedes, tarantulas, common spiders. I screamed. Calm, Annabeth, calm. I jumped onto my roommate's bed and exitted the cabin. I heaved a sigh of relieve. Then I realized that I was still in my pajamas and I had a bed-head. Sigh. Happy birthday, Percy.

A/N hello! So while I was editting the chapters, I didn't like the way Annabeth was depicted, and so I took down chapter 14 and re-wrote the whole thing. And I don't know if you guys have reveived the notifications that I have re-published the chapters before this, so if you do receive it, please re-read the editted version, because i changed the years of almost everything.
