Chapter Five

Chapter Five

I grasped desperately at my seatbelt till my knuckles turned white.

"Colt, you're going pass the speed limit," I said, my voice laced with concern.

He didn't answer me, instead he pressed on the accelerator even more.

I glanced out the window nervously, but I couldn't make out a single thing from the speed we were going at.

Was something chasing us?

"Is everything okay, Colt," Charlotte asked from the backseat.

"No," he growled.

"How did you know I was in trouble?" I asked.

Colt seemed annoyed by all the questions but reluctantly answered.

"I had a feeling," his voice was tight and deep.

He was angry.

Colt glanced at me, and his eyes immediately softened.

Sighing, he said," There was another rogue attack."

"On our land?" Charlotte exclaimed.

"No, on our neighboring pack. The Midnight River pack. The Alpha's daughter was attacked. Luckily, Blake saved her."

Blake? Who was that?

Charlotte's mouth dropped.

"Our Blake? As in Beta Blake?"

"Yeah, turns out their mates. He heard her cry and instantly came to the rescue. Fortunately, she wasn't harmed."

Colt smiled brightly. He was probably happy for his Beta.

Abruptly, Colt stepped on the brakes, causing me to lurch forward. I didn't even noticed we had made it to the pack house.

Once we entered the enormous house, Colt ordered Charlotte to greet Beta Blake and his new mate.

Charlotte glared at Colt for being told what to do but eventually left.

I obediently followed behind Colt as we made our way up the winding staircase. My head was bowed , so that I gazed at the floor. He seemed angry and I didn't want to irritate him more by being disrespectful.

As we entered our room, I closed the door silently behind me. I glanced at Colt, who had his back turned. His hand was gripping the edge of the dresser so hard I thought it might break. Also his shoulders were shaking from anger.

I walked up to him, and placed my hand on his shoulder.

Colt turned around so fast that I though he would get whiplash. I gasped as I made eye contact with him. Gone was his beautiful icy blue eyes now they were a stunning gold.

The eyes of his wolf.

"He could of killed you," he growled roughly.

I hesitantly took a step from Colt, slightly scared.

"But he didn't," I said reassuringly," I'm perfectly fine, Colt."

"I should of killed him right away," Colt said even more angrier. His wolf was completely in control of him.

Before I could open my mouth to comfort him, he smashed his lips to mine. I was caught off guard and stumbled into the wall but Colt never broke the kiss. After getting over my shock, I eagerly kissed him back.

My wolf howled in joy.

I tangled my fingers through Colt's silky black hair as his hands gripped my hips harshly. Colt deepened the kiss gratefully. Just as I moved my hands from his hair to his neck, Colt and I broke apart.

I breathed heavily and I pretty sure my blonde hair was sticking up.

"You are mine," Colt snarled.

His wolf was still in control.

"I'm yours," I responded.

Colt bowed his head towards my head and breathed me in.

I felt canine teeth graze my collarbone, and I instantly knew what Colt was going to do. I didn't stop him though. I wanted this. I wanted everyone to know that I only belonged to him.

Colt sank his canine teeth into my skin, marking me. I bit my lip to keep from crying out in pain.

Dang, this hurts.

Colt pulled back with a huge smile on his face.

"You okay, babe?" He questioned.

"I'm fine," I smiled back.

My neck stung a little but it was a good pain.

"You ready?" Colt asked.

"For what?"

"Blake and his mate are waiting downstairs."

More people to meet? This could get interesting.

Charlotte POV

Amity and Colt walked in suddenly, interrupting Dakota's, Blake's new mate, and my conservation.

"What took you guys so long," I asked smirking.

Colt smiled proudly, while Amity turned away and blushed.

I didn't need answer. I could easily see the fresh mark on Amity's neck.

Blake chuckled silently behind me, causing Dakota to smack the back of his head.

Showing her respect, Dakota bowed her head.

I rolled my eyes at her action.

"Alpha Colt and Luna Amity, I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is Dakota, daughter of Alpha Luke and mate of Beta Blake."

Her voice was full of confidence and pride, which I admired. But I hated the formality.

"Nice to meet you, Dakota," Colt said shaking her hand," This is my mate, Amity."

"Hello," Amity said in a quiet voice.

After introducing myself to Dakota, she gave me a warm smile.

"It's my honor to be apart of the strongest pack in the nation." Dakota said to Colt.

Dakota seemed perfect. She had curly brown hair with blonde highlights and beautiful eyes that were a mixture of green, blue, and brown. The way she spoke and held herself I knew she came from a family of pride, confidence, and formality. I felt a pang of jealousy but shook it off.

"It's a pleasure to have you," Colt said.

Dakota nodded in appreciation.

"Blake, let's go," Colt said in a cold voice.

Dakota and Blake looked at each other with longing. I understood. They had just discovered each other a hour ago. Blake pulled Dakota in a tight embrace .

Colt kissed me on the forehead before exiting the room, Blake hot on his heels.

"Girls night!" Charlotte exclaimed.
