Chapter Eleven~Part 2

A bitter gust of wind whipped my golden hair in my face. Sighing heavily, I gently pushed it away. It was a cold day for October, fall was starting. The green leaves had suddenly shifted into yellow, orange, and red. Even the grass has started to turn brown. I breathed in frigid air, smiling. I was glad Annie took me for a run. I needed to let my wolf out, and relax.

I glanced at Annie, who was gazing out in the forest as if she was waiting for something. Her foot was lightly tapping on the earth's soft floor. Her posture was tensed and her arms crossed over her chest.

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

Annie jumps, and whirls back around, forgetting that I merely sat five feet away. Her big baby blue eyes lock with mine, and she smiles.

"Peachy," she answers,"I just..."

Looking at the ground, Annie trails off. I frown, realizing something big is bothering her.

"It's okay. You can tell me," I say softly, standing up and waking up to her.

She takes in a shaky breathe, but this time meets my gaze again.

In a light voice, Annie asks,"Do you believe in Forgiveness?"

I furrow my eyebrows. What kind of question was that? Of course, I believe in forgiveness. I hoped greatly that Colt would forgive me. If he didn't, I don't know how I would deal.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?"

A faint smile danced on Annie's lips.

"No reason," she answers, her voice soft like the wind," Let's just get back to the pack house."

My eyes widen into saucers and my lip starts to tremble.

"What happens of Colt is there?" I asked panicked.

"Amity! You can't ignore him forever. If he is there, then you guys should talk it out."

I nod, turning back towards the pack house.

It turns out Colt wasn't back at the house, just Charlotte and her mate, Chase. I haven't gotten to meet Chase but I inferred that he was a man of few words.

Apparently, Colt was out on a run. I was just glad we didn't run into him. Charlotte, who was sitting on Chase's lap in the lounge area, looked at me with a puzzled expression painted in her face.

"Is everything okay, Amity? Colt stormed out of here angry this morning?" she asked, curious.

I clenched my fists. I really didn't want to tell anybody, but this was Colt's sister. She deserved to know. I immediately began to retell the story. I did my best not to start bawling, but I did feel one tear slid slowly down my cheek. After I was finished, Charlotte jumped off to her feet, her face red as a fire hydrant.

"Ugh! Why does Colt always have to be a complete jerk!"

"It's okay, Charlotte. It's my fault, actually. I was rude," I comforted.

Charlotte strode up to me and grabbed my head in her hands.

"Listen to me, Amity! I don't know how many times I have to say this to get this through that pretty little head of yours, but you didn't do anything wrong! Colt always does this!"

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What do you mean Colt always does this?"

Charlotte huffed and ran her fingers through her wavy brown hair. She looked stressed.

"He always looks so happy and is the perfect gentleman but then he snaps. It could be the smallest thing that would cause him to lose control. When we were younger, he yelled at me for going on a run all by myself. I promise he wasn't always like this just...after mom was killed,"Charlotte said, her voice getting softer at the end.
