Part 2

~Neku's P.O.V~
It has been almost a week since I seen y/n and I still haven't called her yet. I mean I wanted to, but I was too nervous. Shiki tried to help me a couple times but I would still hang up the phone. There was one time when I actually called her but I didn't say anything and quickly hung up.

Ring ring...... Ring ring....
'okay when she answers im-'
"Hello?" Y/n said.
"......"
"Hellooo?" She said again.
'Shit! Hang up! Hang up!!
Beep.
".........Damnit!!!!!"

Yeah it didn't go so great. But today I'm actually going to talk to her. Even if it kills me. I dialed her number and hit the call button. It started to ring and I got really nervous again.
'No hanging up this time' I reminded myself.
"Hello?" Y/n said.
"...uh hey y/n its Neku." I said nervously.
"Oh hey Neku! What's up?" She asked.
"Um nothing really I just wanted to see if uh you would like to meet up today." I said scratching my head.
"Today? Sure! What time?"
"Well It's about 11:28, want to meet up by the Hachiko statue at 12?" I asked.
"Sounds great! See you then! Bye!"
"Bye."
I hang up and fall backwards on my bed.
I then realize I only have a half hour to get ready and leave. I jump off my bed, brush my hair, grab my headphones and rush out the door. I ran down the streets and took a few alleys so I could get there faster. Once I made it to Hachiko I checked the time on my phone. It was only 11:52 so I still had about 8 minutes till she got here. I looked among the crowd of people to see if she was anywhere near. As I was about to look somewhere else I caught her image in the corner of my eye. She was wearing a (f/c) shirt with a kitten wearing glasses on it, (dark/light) blue shorts, and (f/c) high tops. Her (h/l) (h/c) was blowing lightly with the wind as she walked. I couldn't help but stare at her. Before she noticed I quickly caught myself so I didn't look like a complete dork.
"Hey!" She said smiling.
"H-hey." I said nervously.
"How have you been?"
"I've been alright. How about you?"
"Eh mostly bored."
"Why is that?"
"Because I just sat around waiting for you to call me." I started to blush like crazy and scratched my head.
"Yeah.. Sorry I didn't call you sooner."
"It's alright. You just needed a push was all." She said smiling again. "So what are we doing today?"
"Uh well... I actually didn't think of that."
"That's okay. What do you want to do?"
"Uh I don't know."
"Hmm..." She said crossing her arms. "Oh! How about we walk around town and we ask each other questions?"
"Alright."
"Great! Come on!" She said as she grabbed my hand pulling me towards a few stores.

A few hours went by and I've gotten to know about (y/n) a little more. Her favorite color is (color), her favorite animal is (animal), her favorite show is (show), and her favorite food is (food). As we were walking down the street her phone began to ring.
"Oh! Sorry can I take this?"
"Yeah go ahead." She quickly grabs her phone and answered it.
"Hello?....hey Uncle H. what's up?.......Are you serious?...... Omg I'm sorry, I'll be there right away."
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"I forgot I had to work today."
"Oh well you should get going then."
"You don't mind?"
"No if you have to go then you should get going I won't keep you waiting." I said as I smiled a little.
"Thanks Neku!" She said before giving me a kiss on the cheek and running off to the café. I stood there just staring at nothing in particular, blushing like crazy.
"Hey Neku!"
"Ahhh! Oh Shiki it's you."
"Well who else would it be?"
"(Sigh) nevermind. What are you doing?"
"Well I was walking around town today when I seen you with a girl. Was she the one you were trying to call?"
"Uh yeah she is."
"I knew it! You two are so cute together." She said happily. "Anyway do you want to join me? I'm about to meet up with Rhyme and Beat for dinner."
"Sure, why not."

~(y/n)'s P.O.V.~
I quickly ran as fast as I could to the Café. Once I got there I noticed it was packed with people.
"There you are!" Uncle H. said.
"Sorry I'm late I totally forgot about today." I said.
"It's okay but you should help me with these orders before they overflow." He said handing me my apron.
"Alright." I said. I quickly went to work helping Uncle H. with orders. After about an hour most of the people started to leave. Once everyone was gone I started cleaning some of the tables.
"So how exactly did you forget about work today?"
"Umm...well, I kind of uh met up with someone."
"And who is the someone?" He asked.
"A guy."
"A guy huh? Do I know him?"
"You might."
"What's his name?"
"Neku."
"Neku Sakuraba?"
"Maybe. Do you know him?"
"If we are thinking of the same Neku then yes I do. He's a nice kid. Comes around the shop often actually."
"How did you two meet?"
"We met through a kid I sort of look after."
"When did you met?"
"Oh about 5 months ago."
"Is that so?"
"So how did you two end up getting together today?"
"He called me and asked to hang out."
"Look at my girl, growing up and going out with guys that she forgets about her old man."
"Come on I would never forget about you. I just got distracted is all." I said as I started sweeping the floor.

~Neku's P.O.V.~
Once Shiki and I met up with Rhyme and Beat we were talking about where we should go to eat. Everyone wanted to go to the Wildkat Café but I wasn't so excited about the idea since (y/n) will probably be there. It's not that I don't want to see her, I just don't want Shiki recognizing her and freak out. Once she freaks out Rhyme and Beat will wonder what's going on, then tell me to spill the beans. As I was about to say something I realized that everyone was walking towards the Café so I ran to catch up to them.

Once we got there I noticed (y/n) was sweeping the floor with her back turned to us. We walked over a table and sat down.
"Hey! What get I get you today?" Mr. H. said. We all ordered and he walked away.
"Hey phones come here a sec." He said. I walk over to the counter wondering what he might want.
"So I heard that you and my dear (y/n) are playing hooky." He said. I scratch the back of my head nervously. "Look phones, I like you. You're a nice kid, but if you hurt (y/n) you're gonna wish you didn't. Alright?"
"Alright." Mr. H. held out his hand to me. I take it and give him a firm shake. "So how do you and (y/n) know each other?" I asked him.
"Her mother and I go way back. We're like family you could say."
"Alright Uncle H. I'm fini- Neku?"
"Hey (y/n)."
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"My friends wanted to stop here and eat." She looks over to the table where the others are.
"I see." She said with a smile. "What were you two talking about?"
"Well my dear I was giving Neku here a little lecture about how he should treat you well." Mr. H. said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"You didn't." She said.
"I did." He said.
"Omg you're so embarassing sometimes." She said before taking my wrist and leading me outside. "Sorry about that."
"Don't worry about it."
"Well I should be heading home. I'll talk to you later alright."
"Okay." I said. She came up to me and gave me a hug. I was shocked at first but awkwardly hugged her back. She gave me a smile and walked away.
I walk back inside and sit at the table to find the others looking at me.
"What?" I ask.
"So what's the news with this chick you're seeing?" Beat asked. I look at Shiki and give her a death glare.
"Sorry." She said. I then sigh and bang my head on the table.
"Are you and this girl going out?" Rhyme asked.
"Not exactly."
"Will you?" Shiki asked.
"Hopefully." I said as I looked out the window. 'Hopefully.'
