Chapter 5

I stepped out of the portal and I tripped in some strawberry patches. I tried getting up, but I tripped again. I heard some footsteps running towards me.

"We've got some portal action!" A guy called out. He pulled me up at brushed the plants off of me. Then he handed me my stuff. He had shorter blonde hair,

Electric blue eyes, and was slightly taller than I am. He looked about my age. He was cute. In a Roman type of way.

"Sorry abou that." I said sheepishly.

"That's ok. My names Hunter Grace." I stuck out my hand. He shook it.

"Silena Jackson. Nice to meet you."

"You too." Just then a girl with ginger/light brown hair, ran up to us.

"What's wrong with the portal?" She asked Hunter.

"Nothing. Silena here just came through it." He said motioning towards me with his head.

"I'm right here guys!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry!" The girl said. She held out her and and I shook it. "I'm Samantha Valdez. But you can call me Sammi." Then another person came running towards us, and I knew recognized him. It was Felix Zhang, my 'cousin'. He was Aunt Hazel and Uncle Frank's kid. He left for a year as an exchange student in New York. That's all I knew. Felix was sprinting towards us. He finally reached us.

"What's wrong? Are you guys ok?" Then he saw me. "Sil?"

"Hi Felix." I said. He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back. When we finally finished our hug, he started with the questions.

"You're here. At camp. And not Camp Jupiter. Ok what's wrong?"

"I don't know. I'm just doing what mom told me to do." The others just stood gaping at us. Felix laughed.

"At least Aunt Annabeth isn't here. She would be like-" I interrupted him, imitating my mom.

"Felix and Silena what are you doing?! You're supposed to be training with the Legion!"

"And my response would be: We're being teenagers Auntie Annabeth. Isn't that what Uncle Percy does?" We burst out laughing thinking of what moms reaction would be to that. Sammi decided to speak up.

"So... Are you guys related?"

"Sorta..." Felix and I responded together. Hunter spoke up.

"So do you want to see came Silena?"

"Sure." I said blushing a little. Felix noticed. Then came the grin. The troublemaker grin. That's the perks of knowing my dad when you're young. His personality kinda rubs off on you. Including the troublemaker aspect of his personality.

"Don't you dare, Felix." I warned in a tone that I hoped sounded like my mothers. Hunter and Sammi looked at me strangely. Felix kept grinning. I groaned inwardly. Hunter noticed.

"You ok Silena?"

"Yeah. Let's just go look at camp now." I suggested.

"Ok." Hunter said as he dragged me away. After a minute he struck up a conversation.

"What's your last name again?"

"Jackson. Why?"

"It sounds familiar."

"I don't know why it would sound familiar. It's a normal last name. My turn for asking a question. What's your middle name?"

"Tristan. What's yours?"

"Bianca. Do you have any siblings?"

"No. How about you? Do you have any?"

"No. But I feel like Felix's little sister Emily is my sister too. Even though she's only my cousin."

"That's nice. That's how I feel with Sammi. Except we're not related."

"Nice. So where do your parents live?"

"Here at camp. What about yours?"

"Camp Jupiter. They live with Felix's parents." We stopped in front of a house.

"This is where my parents and I live. I need to grab some stuff before we head down to see Mr. D. Come on in." He said, leading me into the house. There was a woman cooking in the kitchen her back was to us.

"Make yourself at home." Hunter told me. Leading me into a family room.

"Hunter is that you?" The woman said.

"Yeah mom."

"Is Sammi with you?"

"No mom. A new girl named Silena is. I'm showing her around camp." He said leaving the room. After a minute his mom came in.

"Hi I'm Piper, Hunter's mom. Are you Silena?" She stopped looking at me. "Do I know you?"

"No ma'am. I'm new here." She sat down next to me on the couch.

"Call me Piper. And just a random question: What's your last name?" She asked cautiously.

"Jackson." I said, and she gasped.

"No wonder we haven't seen them in years!"

"Piper, what are you talking about?"

"What are your parents names?" She said quickly. She looked ready to collapse from the need of knowing.

"Percy and Annabeth." She quickly got up and ran to the kitchen as Hunter came back with a backpack full of random things.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I don't know. She asked me some questions, I answered them, and she bolted into the kitchen." I said as Hunter helped me up. We left the house and went to an amphitheater. There were some kids messing around with a strange instrument.

"Hey guys!" He said, and they turned around.

"Hunter! A girl exclaimed and she ran and grabbed the bag from his hands before running back to the instrument.

"What's that?" I asked pointing to the weird mechanism.

"The Valdezinator."

"I have never heard of that."

"Come on." He said dragging me towards a giant wood house. When we arrived there was a centaur and a man in a leopard print shirt playing pinochle. Then Piper came running past and she started talking heatedly with the centaur. The centaur turned towards us.

"Silena Bianca Jackson. Daughter of Perseus and Annabeth Jackson. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. So nice to meet you."
