(Thanks for the amazing fanart, EZ-Dayz ! It's really cool and is great for the story!!!! :D)
Dipper felt a little uncomfortable with his new bandages, but it didn't really matter to him. Compared to what I've been through, this is probably the most normal part, he sighed.
"Mabel?" Dipper walked up by her sister's side. "I'm really sorry. About Bill, he tricked me, and I shouldn't have been that stupid."
Mabel met his gaze, like she was going to cry. It's almost like she knows something about me that I don't? "It's okay. I mean, we're siblings, and we'll be together forever," she seemed to be half-reassuring herself, "And Bill? He probably took advantage of your amnesia and all that, which is probably pretty typical." She looked over towards the door to the Shack. "Speaking of apologizing... We should probably go see Ford and the others!"
Mabel grabbed her twin's hand, and dragged him out into the open. She headed down to the tree to Ford's bunker, and studied it. "Uh... Hm. How did Wendy do this again?"
"Do what?"
Dipper couldn't help but watch her sister think. It almost looked like she had been through this before. "I'm about to do something really stupid!" She exclaimed, and took off her sweater.
Dipper jumped backward, and shielded his eyes. "Mabel! What-"
"Don't worry, Dip! I'm wearing a tank-top under."
Dipper sighed in relief, and watched her. She wrapped her sweater around the tree, and used it to attempt to climb to the top. Dipper cringed as she almost lost her balance at one point, but she grabbed hold of a branch just before she fell. The preteen boy's eyes widened as the branch made a cranking sound, and it mechanically fell out of place.
Before his eyes, Dipper was looking straight at a spiraling stairway that led down the tree. "Come on!" Mabel exclaimed, and he followed her down.

Mabel rushed into the main room of the bunker, the same room that she had been in with Soos when the Shapeshifter was freed. "Great Uncle Ford!" She called to the old man.
Ford glared at her, but Mabel realized he was really staring at Dipper. "Candy, give me your gun," he whispered, and Candy handed it to him. He aimed it towards Dipper. "Don't look, Mabel... I'm sorry!"
Mabel's heart quickened. "Wait! Don't shoot!" She exclaimed, and protectively hugged her startled brother. "He's fine! Bill's not in him anymore!" A wide-eyed-Dipper nodded quickly, and made a motion with his hands as if to say, She's, right, she's right! Don't shoot!
Ford lowered his gun. "Wait. You're okay?" He blinked. "What happened? How did you do it?"
Mabel shrugged. "Well, Bill was about to fire the memory eraser at me, but I blocked it with a mirror. I don't really know how it happened, but I think I erased him out of Dipper's mind..?"
Ford's eyes sparkled, and he looked extremely relieved at Bill's downfall. "That's brilliant!" He stood up off of the floor, and Candy and Grenda followed.
"Hugs!" Grenda cried, and her friends approached her to squeeze her tightly. Mabel blushed.
"Come on, guys, It wasn't that cool.." She replied modestly, but still felt lustful for their praise. "I mean, when a demon possesses your brother, you would do the same thing."
When the hugfest ended, Ford came up to Mabel. "Mabel, about the question you asked earlier, I'm sorry I didn't answer it." He confessed. "I thought it was just too dangerous to tell you. So I might as let you all in on the secret."
"Sort of like Dipper's apprenticeship? Was that a secret, too?"
Ford blinked. "What? I don't know what you're talking about."
Mabel narrowed her eyes. "Are you sure...?"
Ford looked a little nervous, and he turned pale. "I'm sure," he adjusted his glasses, "Now, I'll tell you about the rift."
Mabel leaned forward with curiosity. That's what it's called! She thought.
"When your Gruncle Stan turned on the portal, it became unstable. Because of that, it created this." He held up a protected glass ball with a strange substance floating inside. Mabel stared in awe. "If Bill were to get his hands on this, it would be disaster."
"What kind of disaster?" Dipper wondered aloud.
"Uh, I don't know," Ford replied quietly. "But he can't have it, or things could be bad."
Mabel smiled, and couldn't help but chuckle a little. "If that's all you had to tell me, why did you make it so secret?"
"Because I was afraid I would put you in danger. Bill is one of the most sly creatures I've come across in my research."
Mabel thought on those words for a moment. The thought of her Gruncle trying to protect her felt nice, as well as a good thing that she finally knew the whole truth. Something still seems a little off about this, but I guess I'm just being paranoid.
"About my memories... Is that machine almost done?" Dipper asked.
Great Uncle Ford seemed to enjoy a subject change. "Ah, yes. I was able to take the memories that were sucked into the memory eraser gun, and transport it into a gun that acted only to reverse the effects of memory loss." He held up a futuristic pistol. It was a solid grey, with white stripes on the trigger.
Mabel noticed that Dipper's expression turned to excitement and she grinned at him. I can't wait to see the old Dipper again! Her thoughts cheered.
Ford placed his six-fingered-hand on the trigger, and aimed at Dipper's head. "Hold still," he instructed Dipper. The excitement faded on Dipper's face, and it was now a little nervous. Mabel assumed that anyone that has a gun-like contraption pointing at their head would act that way, too.
To help calm him, she grabbed her sibling's hand and held it tightly. Dipper smiled, but the nervousness was still in his gaze. "Thanks, Mabel."
"You're welcome."
The trigger was released. Ford fired, and an enormous blast of light filled the room.
