Btw, I'm making it new years right now (Nico was in the infirmary for about half a year, and it was summer when he was "sentenced" by Will)
I woke up and immediately bit my lip, my teeth chattering from the cabin's cold temperature. Hazel was curled against Frank's side. Frank would be staying in the cabin since he was Hazel's boyfriend and she's in worse shape than I am. got slowly out of bed, shivering in the cold cabin. It wasn't usually this cold. wonder what was going on. I blinked, trying to get the sleepy fog out of my eyes. But it wasn't going away. I realized that there was in fact mist swirling around the cabin. Hazel woke up with a gasp. Frank slowly stirred and sat up. Hazel looked around the cabin, and blushing she closed her eyes, a look of concentration across her face. Slowly the mist retracted, and the temperature shot up ten degrees. I looked at Hazel in confusion. Frank laughed, but behind the sound there was sadness. "I can control the mist. Lady Hecate helped me." I nodded. She must have had an unsettling sleep to create the mist without meaning too. "I have to pack for, you know. . . ." I trailed off. "The quest." Frank finished. I nodded, walking out the door, waving one last good bye to them. I walked into my cabin, and my siblings went silent. I looked at the floor and shuffled towards my dresser, but I was blocked by my favorite and most caring siblings, Austin and Kayla. I saw my two best friends Cecil and Lou Ellen. Cecil's leg has fully healed and he was giving Lou Ellen a piggyback ride. She jumped off his back when they reached the door to the cabin. All four of them came and gave me a hug. That seemed to break the spell on the rest of the cabin. They swarmed us, arms in other people's faces and space. I bit lip, trying to keep from crying.  Slowly Lou Ellen, Cecil and I pulled away and I waded my way through my half-sibling, Lou and Cecil on my heels. Suddenly there was a shriek, and a loud bark. I walked out of the cabin, to see Hazel on the ground and a black mass on top of her. I rushed over, as Ms. O'Leary licked Hazel, drenching her in slobber. Hazel gave a watery smile, and Ms. O'Leary got off of her. Suddenly the dog's ears flattened and she rushed into the Hades cabin that was behind Hazel. How she fit, I don't know. Hazel and I walked in, to see Ms.O'Leary sniffing Nico's bed. She then bounded over to me, and lowering her head slightly, she sniffed my neck and ear, since that's the level she was at. She licked my face and left me sputtering, trying to get the taste of slobber out of my mouth. Ms.O'Leary suddenly stopped moving, front paw in the air, sniffing the air. A small growl escaped her mouth and lowering her head to the ground, hound senses kicking in, she followed a scent out the door, and I raced after her, Hazel at my side. We ran passed the Hephaestus kids at the lake, who were setting up the rockets for the fireworks tonight. I stumbled as I realized that if I didn't find Nico, I wouldn't be able to give him a new years kiss. The dog raced into the infirmary, knocking into things but not stopping, with Hazel and I on her heels. She reached the door to the room that had been Nico's. She nudged the door open, and suddenly stopped. On instinct I lunged, grabbing onto her collar just as she shadow traveled.
