It's exactly twelve o'clock. Nash and I are quietly exiting the house while our parents are still asleep. We're sneaking out to Hayes's grave because my parents unsurprisingly didn't believe us and wouldn't let us go. So, the only way we could do this hunt was to do it without our parents knowing. Nash quickly pulled out of the driveway and drove down the street with the radio playing stitches by Shawn Mendes quietly. The grave yard is a few hours' drive so we should get there by sun rise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're nearly at the grave yard and the radio is still playing and Nash and I haven't spoken one word the entire car ride. Until now. "It's so weird" I say as I think of the events that are occurring.
"What's weird?" Nash asks. Was he serious? Everything is weird.
"I lose my memory, baby dies, find out the father is a lunatic and killed my cousin, cousin isn't dead, and I don't remember any of my friends and family" I say while looking at the stars for some random reason. I proceed "usually when someone loses their memory they try to remember everything that happened in the past but here I am wondering what the fuck my life is" I say. Nash doesn't say anything. Just continues to drive like I never said anything. We finally got to Hayes's grave. And Nash was right about the sun going down, it does look beautiful form here. We walk over to the grave and there were dead flowers and the stone had cracks in it. There was a picture on the stone of me, Nash, my parents, Nash's parents, and a boy I've never seen before which I am guessing is Hayes. "Where's the letter?" I ask distracting myself from the unhappy grave image. "No idea" Nash says brushing his long Harry Styles hair with his fingers. I all of a sudden got interested in the ground and I noticed a white paper looking thing that was covered in dirt. I squat down and pick up the rest of the letter out of the ground and dusted off the dirt. "Nash, I think I found it" I say holding up the envelope with the words Nash on it with the same handwriting that was in the last letter.
Nash rips the envelope from my hand and opens it. He reads silently as the only thing look at the rest of the sun rise while it lasts. Nash coughs and I noticed he was holding the letter in my face for me to read. I take the letter and begin to read it. It said "Thanks for finally visiting again. I missed you. Now that I got your attention the next thing I want you to is to buy an empty book with no words in the pages. And from here on out, from the second you buy the book to the end write down every moment of this adventure I'm giving you. Life is an open book full of blank pages. You need to write this book as you go". I finish and look at Nash looking at the sky.
"Ok, so let's get a journal now" I say to Nash as if he doesn't know what to do next. He sighs and just says a simple 'ok'.I stop Nash from walking because obviously something was up. "What's wrong?" I ask.
"It sucks" Nash begins with his lips quivering. "It sucks that I love you as my cousin and I have so many great memories with you that you don't remember. I miss your real self and I wish I could show you what you don't remember, I wish I could show you who you really are. It also sucks that you have to go through this Cameron and Hayes shit and you don't remember anything. It feels so unreal" The only thing I could do was hug him. I hugged him tight and he hugged back just as tight. "It will be ok. My memory will be back as soon as you know it" I made sure he knew. Because I don't want him feeling like this. "How do you think that?" he asks clearly not believing what I am saying.
"I don't think. I know so"
