It's been two months since I saw Madison and I've been keeping up on dates. Today is the day Jack is supposed to come in and tell me how to escape this shit hole. I pace back and force with the nerves running through my body, Matthew reading a book from the prison's library. Since I saw Madison we've been talking as if he has forgiven me a little but I know he still hates me. Of course he does, who wouldn't?

"is this what your Mondays will consist of now? walking back and forth?" Matthew says interrupting his reading.
"sorry, I'm nervous" I respond and immediately regret .
"about what? not like your going to be getting a visitor?" he responds rudely.
"i am getting a visitor..." I say back as I sit down on my bed and rest my elbows on my knees and rest my chin in my hands.
"who? that random person from like two months ago?" Matthew asks
"I have to tell you something" I whisper
"what?"
"Come closer, it's a secret" I warn him
Matthew sighs annoyed, closes his book, walks over with terrible posture and bags under his eyes. He hasn't slept lately. "I do too many favours for you" he says on his way over and drops himself on my bed but not getting too close.
"I'm...getting out. Jack J is..." I sigh for a break and continue "helping me escape" I whisper making sure no one in the other cells can hear me.
Matthew just stares at me...stares...stares...and stares.
"Your joking" he responds breaking silence
"No, I'm not. Madison visited and told me" I lean closer and talk quieter.
"Listen, Matthew, you can not tell anyone. When I get out-" Matthew interrupts
"IF you get out. This is a big IF Nash. This prison as huge security and I'm supposed to be quiet about it? You do know that when they realise you have escaped I am the first person to be questioned and you know why? BECAUSE WE FUCKING LIVE TOGETHER IN A CELL AND NO ONE ELSE IS A WITNESS" he yells by whispering. I comb my hair with my fingers and make another huge sigh.
"well when I DO get out, you have to lie. I'll come back for you and Taylor. I promise"
"we have about five months left, what's the point?" he asks as he gets up not seeing what the future can have for when we escape.
"My point is I don't want ten years. I'm going bonkers in here. You are too, you know it" I say standing up with him as we proceed to keep out voice low.
"you know what?"
"What?" I reply to Matthew as I know he is about to snap at me
"Go. break the law. again. and don't come back for us. We are not going to be part of another plan to extend our sentence on attempt of breaking out. Are you nuts?" he asks me.
"Yes, I am. But when you get the chance to leave a shit hole, you'd want to leave wouldn't you?" I asked him
"not like this. not with a murder" he says holding back his tears and anger as he gets close in my face. The officer opens the bars and says in a very deep southern accent "Visitor for you, Nash" I say goodbye to Matthew by rubbing my shoulder against his as I walk past.
Officer walks down the aisle of cells where prisoners stare at me just wishing they could be outside their closure.

Visiting time

I see Jack and Jack when I walk in and they look healthy and normal. I sit down. It's silent. They're looking at me with their arms folded.
"Did you keep the ID shit?" Jack G asks me and I knew he needed it. I secretly pull it out from my singlet under my prison outfit and hand it to him under the table.  Johnsons starts talking serious.
"The way to get out this shit hole...is to do whatever it takes" I was confused.
"what do you mean, Johnsons?" I ask
"there's always an officer that is unreliable" he said. he's right.
"Every Wednesday and Thursday we have the officer that watches us when we're suppose to sleep, but she sleep at the end of the hallways where her office is" I inform them.
"perfect. With that, you need to somehow get a way to unlock yourself from the cell and get outside to the garden. Be careful of the watch out lights that circle around the garden like a light house. There is a fake piece of grass near the gates and it's obvious cause it's darker than the real grass. Lift it up and make your way out" Johnson tells me quietly.

"Wait, that's it? seriously?" I ask.
"yep. then you'll be on your way to Australia, mate" Jack G says.
"Don't tell Matthew or Taylor. We can't come back for them" Jack G says.
"I promise" I say back with such guilt. Even though he told me not to come back for him.
"see  you on the other side, my friend" Jack J says as they both walk out like a boss.
